I'm actually smiling for Simon. A genuine 1 watch man, definitely not a poser.
Such a refreshing video, thank you Austin. Nothing better than a cash deal (and those 1655's...)

Thank you!
It's really cool how you connect with your viewers. You always have the most down to earth content. Watched the video twice Simon is really happy. Austin you really have a talent with people.
I know its a year old, but this is a great video! Awesome buying experience! Way to actually wear that Explorer and embrace the scratches! A+++
Love this episode Austin. Can definitely feel Simon’s excitement. Well done of your purchase Simon. Wear in good health. Oh and that was quite a deal too.
Thanks for the shout out Austin, I do indeed love those 1655's! Simon is a wise man with good taste in watches. I too have a 214270 Explorer (albeit a Mk1) and a 216570 Explorer 2 Polar. Great minds think alike! Both watches fly under the radar as far as Rolex are concerned and are a fantastic value for the money. Great video Austin, one of your best yet!

You're getting famous BSB. LOL
Simon was a great guest! I love how he actually uses his watches.
Awesome video! Fun to watch you guys seriously on the hunt for something. Congrats to Simon on the Polar!
Austin this was a wonderful video both in form and content. Well done👏👏
Thank you very much for showing us around Tokyo watch shopping. Great video and very interesting. Nice purchase on the Explorer 2. Looking forward to more of these videos.
Great fun watching you guys do some serious Rolex shopping.
Ha ha, thanks for the video Austin - the warning sirens are great 😂
Great video Austin, and congrats to Simon on his new purchase!
Simon gets it, nice modern Explorer’s. Solid and legible, well done. Nice video Austin, that Batman was hysterical!

Turkey Vulture it was ‘hysterical’ to us, but some poor soul is going to pay thousands for it believing it to be genuine which is not quite so funny for them
Great video again!Definitely one of you best. I’d love to see more of this.
Brilliant video. Thoroughly enjoyed it
Really likes this video, the exploring and excitement of buying a Rolex was just unfathomable! Simon was a natural in front of the camera, very engaging video
Great snow watch‼️
Cash deal. Love the bill counting machine. Will have to do that on my next purchase. Congrats to Simon.

This video was awesome! Congrats, Simon 😁
Love the videos Austin. Keep feeding us watch obsessed masses.
Great video, love the normal ones but seeing you help some out to buy one is even better!
Great vid Austin very enjoyable 👍
not sure why but I absolutely love watching these videos
Great video and great watch Simon!! I’m on the waiting list for a polar explorer 🧭-sometime this year. Austin I’m curious what do you think will be your next watch?? Best regards
What a nice fellow Simon is. Great video 👍🏼
Love these videos. Extremely interesting and knowledgeable.👍✌️
cool fun vid, thanks Austin
Found a good deal on two used ones in Shinjuku. That was a P Serial though (2001/2002), his is pretty much a brand new one.
Really nice video Austin. Simon seemed like a lovely bloke and looked like he had a great time as well as buying a great watch. That Polar Explorer II has got into my head recently since it was suggested by IDGuy and Blueshirt Buddah too. It really is a super legible watch and will be a hardy wearer. I liked some of the other watches that you showed us. The Subs, Pepsi’s, Cokes, and the Kermits but, those 1655’s were absolutely gorgeous!! Definitely the showstoppers. Again, a great little video here Austin. “Shoutout to Blueshirt Buddah” ✊

Thanks Thomas - much appreciated. I can't wait to see what Rolex does with the Ex.2 next year, being its 50th anniversary.
This is the future of your channel I think, if you can find more willing participants.
enjoyed the vlog style video
The problematic BLNR was fascinating and a little scary. Great work!
Great summary, trying to decide between Poljot Strela and Vostok, I think you made my mind up that Vostok is tough. I know the Strela has been to space also,but the ocean is much tougher. Thanks
Nice! You give watch shopping tour in Japan. Will surely look you up should go to Japan. I am in the market for a Daytona, the 2nd hand market prices are crazy here in Singapore.

Good video. THANKS!
Simon was a pleasant guy. Great video and chemistry.
Great video Austin, you guys make me want to buy new luxury sports watch :))
Just a quick look at the ceramic bezel on the BLNR is an easy tell!
Nicely done.
Great video - what a brilliant day, and a great choice in the end.
Fantastic - great vid

Great video!
Great vid, great watches!
Love his choice as I have the same Polar Explorer II too.
Great video
the first thing I noticed on the batman was the bezel, the blue and the black should meet smack dab in the middle of the "6" of course the watch just fell apart completely from there
Love these videos...although they make me extremely jealous....really fun to "watch"!
That Batman... the blue/black joint at the bezel is not even centred on number 6!
Great video 👍
Hi Austin, what do you think a good used Rolex Daytona SS White dial latest generation should sell for ? With box and papers. Also, a GMT BATMAN first generation again, used with papers box optional. Thank you
Simon bought the Explorer 2 from Kamekichi? That's where I sold my IWC Pilot Mk XV. He's got a good deal for the Explorer 2. When I was looking around few months back, they were around the Y1,050,000 mark (inc tax). Seems he paid Y890,000 ex tax?
Awesome video
Definitely a DHGate special on that Batman. Hand stack is incorrect as well
Next time I'm over I'll definitely call on your help Austin!

Thanks!
Explorer2 white dial a killer, good choice, Milgaus green/ black dial real close .( more unique) Thanx P.S. Tx.
Austin, you missed the biggest tell of all! The bezel colors did not end in the middle of the 6, the blue went right up to it and didn't cross over.
He probably paid about $8,300.00 for the watch. The Yen / Dollar rate is around 109 to the dollar but you have to figure they took 1% to 2% when doing the foreign exchange. He paid Y890,000.... divide that by around Y107 and you get roughly $8,300.00.
Polar! That fake batman looks funny. So Simon bought that Polar at 龜吉 Kame-kichi?I bought my Chopard there! Congrats!
Ok . You got me with the money counter . That is great . I love it. I hope the tax people don't see this back in Jolly Old Britain ! Lol
Austin, you look so good with a Goatee. Definitely keep it. When I shave mine off now and again, my wife demands me to grow it back. lol. Goatee and watch fan for life.
That Batman crystal was all scratched up too!
Great Video Thx, I might ask you in the future to take me watch shopping. How much would you charge? Great, video.

Austin: where is this shop? Near the Ginza area of Tokyo?
Those are dropping here in Vancouver to about 16 Canadian. A Polar 42 explorer sold for 8000 Canadian locally (full kit). I’m beginning to see people dumping watches at lower prices here. Even Daytona’s are coming down slightly in price and sitting for months. Economy is taking a turn here..Please feel free to join my group guys “Masters of Time” on Facebook. Great vid Austin!

the minute track and the rolex logo on dial are big tells
One thing that makes me nervous about buying a used watch is that you can’t tell if there is water damage inside the watch without actually opening the case and taking a look inside. As I heard one watch repairman say, water damage is not readily apparent, and will cause a watch to move slightly slower at first, and will get progressively slower and slower until it eventually stops. You don’t know if the previous owner was careless or forgot to screw down the crown before deciding to take his Rolex for a swim or whatever, which I am sure happens, and then decided to get rid of it for a decent price at one of these stores.
@lefroy1
4 жыл бұрын
That's a very good point, especially when considering private sales. Would you not think stores have the back off high-end watches as a matter of course though?
Also Japanese staff wouldn’t be so rude by just shrugging. It’s not stereotyping, it’s the truth.
hi friend, i have a question about rolexs. Have you ever come across places that sell fake rolex? Which shops? Should I worry about authenticity when buying a Rolex? Where should I buy a watch Nakano, sihnjuku or ueno? Is the jack road shop reliable?Thank your respond.
wow!!!
Great video! Hope no one gets taken by that fake BLNR. The bezel color demarcation at the 6 is awful.
I was hoping he would buy the 1655! Was the frog foot version more money?
@watchsymposium
4 жыл бұрын
Pause it around 12:06 and you can see the prices on those 1655's.
I have the new Batman, the bezel doesn’t click AT ALL! And I also own the 42mm EXPLORER II Polar, beautiful watch.
@watchsymposium
4 жыл бұрын
What!? A BLNR should have a 24 click bezel.
@eldiabolico3750
4 жыл бұрын
Austin Daniels yes but the clicks aren’t audible, they don’t sound like on a Sub, they’re dampened :)
I guess I’m a bit in the dark... are Rolex sold for less in Japan?
How much he paid for his watch?
Simon has his own KZread channel?
Tim Blake Nelson?
remember and fedex box and papers back
Milgauss has the nice oyster inscription on the back of the case. This should be on ever Rolex. I like it, plus Milgauss has a nice weight and size combination definitely a contender in its size range. Very comfortable bracelet.
Question: will he have to pay import fees when getting back to his home country, given that he will have box/papers with him?

nice but i’ll wait as there are rumors rolex are releasing a new explorer II soon
@watchsymposium
4 жыл бұрын
Ya, that's the question: to wait of not? I'd say you're better off not waiting, as a change in the Ex.2 will cause the prices of the current model to jump overnight. You have until 2021 to make your move.

Austin Daniels umm i bought the submariner 16610 in 2010 and 1 year later rolex release the 116610 but the 16610 didn’t have much increase in price even now
@watchsymposium
4 жыл бұрын
But that was 2010 - everything's changed since then. In 2010 you could walk into an AD and get anything you wanted, and nobody wanted the old models, they wanted the new. In 2020, everybody wants to snag a model the moment before its discontinuation.

@@watchsymposium Agree Austin. If they throw a ceramic bezel on the Exp. 2 - this one is going up. Lucky for me I already have The Polar 42mm :).
Polar explorer?
Jack Road in Nakano are thieves, disgraceful behaviour when i was selling. Completely tried to rip me, so i sold literally for 10 times the price on the same floor with another shop.
@watchsymposium

Interesting; give us the details! What model, what did they try to give you for it, and what did you end up getting?
Well said re the Milgauss Austin 😉
Whoah! Hope to meet you as well daniel and be guided with my purchase awesome channel!
it is always funny that asian salespeople use an old tech calculator (9:16) to show you the price they propose
The Explorer II has the lowest resale value of all the Rolex sport models. Great value compared to the others, it's basically a GMT Master II with a fixed bezel. For use on the slopes, I would think that an Explorer II with the black dial would be more appropriate, as it gives off less glare.
