Rolex Oysterdate Precision Steel Watches | SwissWatchExpo

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

The Rolex Oysterdate Precision is as classic and simple as a watch can get. Easily confused with the Oyster Perpetual and Oyster Perpetual Date ranges, the absence of the word "Perpetual" on its dial and name means that it was one of the incredibly rare Rolex variations that were not self-winding. Well-loved by seasoned collectors for its rarity and beauty, it also offers a luxurious touch to any ensembles.
In this review, we're looking at three excellent examples of the iconic watch, all with steel constructions and dials in silver or linen textures. Apart from boasting baton indices and hands and a 35mm Oyster case, these pieces also come with an acrylic crystal -- a common trait for vintage timepieces.

I’m the proud owner of a 6694. My grandfather bought it on 1983. On day, late in the nineties, he gave it to me without a grand explanation nor ceremony. Shortly after he passed away. Twenty-four years later I still have it, I have revised it several times, polished, it has lost the luminosity of the tritium-activated phosphor (hence the little T's surrounding the word “swiss”). I have other watches, some considered better or cooler, but I always come back to this one as it is the most comfortable, reliable and wonderful.

I love 'small' watches, but I couldn't handle having to unscrew the crown to wind it every day.

Bought one for travelling, being uncertain about how time changes affect the date movement. This manual Rolex is nice and basic and will do the job admirably - plus is a bit of a rarity, being discontinued.

Movement 1215 for the early versions, then 1225. 1215 has 18000 beats per hour, 1225 21600.

Correct. 1210 & 1220 have no date. 1215 (18k bph) and 1225 (21.6k bph) are both the date versions. However, the movement is often stamped with 1210 even though it is 1215
