The black gmt master II is my everyday watch. Bought it in 2005 and still looks brand new. Further the price I paid was $4500 in 2005. Its price on the used market is now $12k. Amazing.

Great review. I've had my blnr for a year and love the jubilee bracelet. It doesn't show the fine scratches like the mk1 with PCL's. I checked my GMT hand under a loupe and the blue paint is perfect. I was surprised by what you found, is Rolex relaxing it's quality control. Keep up the great work. Mark 👍

The early run ceramic GMTs (2007-2009 or so) had very fine and delicate printing on the dial. On the newer ones (BLNR, BLRO) the text is thick and coarse and looks bad to me. Great content as always, thanks for the vid.

Is it worth it?......For many the answer is no, and for many the answer is clearly yes. The value of a watch is rarely the sum of its parts and craftsmanship involved - sometimes more and sometimes less. It depends also on marketing, style, longevity, history, value retention and the desire of the consumer stoked by all these factors.

After handling both several times, the Batgirl is superior in that it's much easier to match with clothes, dresses up better due to less flashy colors and just appears more classy. Unless you're wearing a blue and red shirt as in this vid, the red is going to command too much attention and look out of place. I went with the batgirl and haven't looked back.

Well to answer your question. Is it worth the price Rolex offers it for? YES! It’s arguably THE best modern Rolex to date, yeah even better than the Sub & Daytona. I say better than the Sub, because they didn’t go with the polarizing super oyster case on this GMT (many guys don’t like the fat lugs that the Sub has). Better than the Daytona because they made the Daytona too much of a luxury watch than a tool sport watch. No true panda dial, polish center links. The dial is too busy and defeats the purpose of a readable at a glance function. The dial is outdated, looks like a Daytona from 1985. The Rolex hit a home run with the Pepsi. They did it right this time. They know it and they are holding back. It’s improvements alone leave any collectible $100k plus GMT to shame. This Pepsi should help bring down prices on vintage because of the improvements Rolex made on the GMT. It makes and 4 digit GMT reference look like a cheap TIMEX. So why bother collecting the vintage or fuel the collector prices on old delicate GMTs. Now, is it worth grey market prices/double the price? HELL NO! This is still in production and historically the Pepsi wasn’t a difficult Rolex to find. It was common to see a few Pepsi GMT’s in every AD’s display cases. I remember seeing several for sale all the time 10-20 years ago. Even the white gold was very easy to find when it came out. If you NEED to get it now, have money to spend, and it won’t hurt your credit card/wallet. Then I guess? It’s your money. Personally if you have $18k $20k to spend w/out hesitation. That tells me 1) you only bought it because no one else has it 2) you are not a watch person but bought it because it’s expensive. 3) not to knowledgeable. For that price range you can afford to buy better more accurate more prestigious brands survival for your income lifestyle. Either way, your friends, social circle, or the general public won’t care or notice you wear a Pepsi. If you really can’t afford it but have the money? There’s a thin line between a sucker and someone who really wants this but knows how great of a watch this is. I’d say try hard to get one at an AD. Hangout and get to know a sales rep. You might be able to get one in a year. Usually after 5-7 years in production. Those hot Rolex references will be easier for an AD to get for you.
