Seems like a hell of a risky move, could've just as easily gone the other way and he'd still be out for all the fuel cost. Also don't forget he's (apparently) an ongoing client, if so then your reputation is worth hell of a lot more than $1,000. I see this as an honest mistake, and if I were the buyer I'd simply be more cautious dealing with him in the future and keep a look out for red flags just in case.

I bet they are going through hundreds of submissions today. Sending pictures is no excuse for putting on the wrong info. No watch buyer wants to deal with this. At a glance it does look fluted on the bottom areas. The seller is in the wrong here. Buyer would’ve rather made the offer on what it was and dealt with a smooth transaction… this wasn’t a bait and switch on the buyers part.
