I was always an OP36 guy but I recently tried on one of the new 41. Holy shit the silver with the gold indices is the nicest Rolex I’ve ever seen. I think it’s the only time they’ve used yellow gold hands and indices on a full steel watch. It’ll be a classic if ever discontinued

I tried this thing on and man it’s a whole different story in person I would absolutely buy one

I call it the Wonder Bread for obvious reasons.

I asked my AD for it the day it came out. James and Sons listed me for it and these are the same good people who sold me a Panda and other watches. I’m very hopeful especially because they haven’t called to say they can’t do it. So the hope is still there. This is the coolest Rolex I will ever have a shot at. There are a couple in Chrono for 30-35K. I can’t bring myself to speculate to that degree but I think one day hindsight will kick us in the butt for not buying them yesterday. I know of at least one regular Joe who has taken retail delivery of this watch. I’m hopeful but not really expecting it to happen for me because my AD may never see one and certainly they need to prioritize their best customers first. But it feels good to still have hope-like having a lottery ticket well before the drawing. Good video Bruce!

Very nice watch I love it

A couple of thoughts: 1. From day 1, I thought this was pretty cool. I mean, we're talking about a brand so conservative that the internet goes insane when they change the case size of a watch by 0.5mm. Letting their playful side out is well received from me. 2. Rolex can do no wrong. They could put a poo emoji (or palm fronds) on a dial and it would sell gangbusters. They could force customers to sign a contract assigning their first born child to Rolex to replace their aging Oompa Loompa population and people would be lining up (well, and saving money, child care is expensive). We both know Rolex isn't for me, but I approve of this watch vehemently and nobody can change my mind about it. :)

This is the only Rolex I plan to buy. It's still available and I will pay MSRP. I don't collect Watches. All watches I own I wear and I never sold one. All watches are bonded with memories or achievements.

April 2024 here - this will be discontinued in 2 days time (April 9th). My AD told me these were pretty much impossible to get. In the year since it launched they got 5 celebration dials, 2 x 34mm, 2 x 36mm and 1 x 41mm.

Not discontinued , maybe next year with a 2 year run. I'm on the list for 41mm my AD says they're confident it'll arrive later in the year , fingers crossed.

I already resigned to buy a Rolex due to scarcity and A.Ds disgusting behavior, and I don't really feel concerned anymore about such model because there is a 99% chance that I won't never see it worn, ever 🤷‍♂️

I was the exact same… thought it was garish when I first saw it but now want it. Would be a great collectors piece and conversation starter. I have the coral one. Generally speaking, I find the ones to be most interesting are the ones non collectors find the ugliest. My non collector friends think the Pepsi, Hulk and Coral OP are so ugly…. And those are by far my favourite.

I love it. Kissing my AD's butt trying to get a 41 for my retirement in December. Told my AD I'd like a 36 for my daughter as well when she graduates college in a couple years.

Pure pandering to investors no normal people will be able to get it , it will go up in value though due to scarcity. It doesnt match anything certainly not suit friendly , makes me wonder how many people actually like it and how many just see $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. Most of them will live in safes and never see light of day. The single colour ones are cool though and will be worn .

What exactly do you mean? Rolex trolling their customers? They do that since many years with their "waiting list" bs so why shouldn't they do it with a watch? But on a serious not that is by far the ugliest watch I have ever seen. Even the cheap winky dinky Mao watches you can buy at Chinese fake markets are not as ugly as this one. Celebrating by making a fool out of your customers. Yeah, that seems like Rolex style.

Most Rolexes are just so so dull to be honest....I love your Daydate, but overall I'm very much over the brand. Have my Goldeneye quartz Seamaster 2541.80 on the way ... can't wait. That watch is stunning... P.s. I flipped my green op36.... what a boring little thing that was
