Finally I can finish this. Roland was also mistaken for the Black Silence because of his mask. It essentially makes people not focus on him as much, like you would just see someone out of the corner of your eye. The Black Silence was essentially 2 people, Roland and Angelica, and they worked as a pair, with people only seeing 1 person because of his mask.

one a replay, when you get to the many MANY scenes of Roland going "do you regret it?" "do you feel sorry? "and over and over again at many different stages of the game and Angela always answering "·No, muh suffering means I REGRET NOTHING" make this final confrontation hurt so much more due to how many outs Roland tried to give her, he desperately wanted her to realize what she did so he wouldnt have to go down this road

I love how WhiteNight is invading all the floors now, he cannot be bound to a single floor anymore

The second phase is heavily implied to be the monster Roland saw in the smoke war

And here we are. My favorite fight in this game. The culmination of all the things Angela has done and everythig Roland had to bear with. This what I think the Phases resemble. Coreect me if I'm wrong: 1. Phase: The assumed Black Silence on their Rampage. 2. Phase: The Smoke Monster from the Smoke Wars. 3. Phase: Roland and Angelica when they faced the Blood-Red-Night. 4./5. Phase: Gone Angels. Roland and his deeds in the Library. Fun Fact: If you hadn't done all the realisations for Angela than you wouldn't be given a choice. Same goes for Roland. I recommend you check the alternative Routes in the Post Reception cutscene in the Credenca once you are done.

I started this game disliking both Angela for her betrayal in L-Corp and relentless desire for revenge and Roland for his callous view on the suffering of the city and the ease with which he could turn a blind eye to it, represented so well by his stupid catchphrase. But by this point, I've seen so much of both of their backstories and experienced the library with them. I understand them so much better now and just wish so much that they would get a happy ending. And once I came upon those story choices, they weren't even choices at that point.

The sad part is both sides of this fight have legitimate grievances.

He also tricked Pluto with a fake contract. And(as some things implied) he destroyed everything around Tanya(considering her obsession with strength, just like some Thumb guys did, it's implied that she was the only survivor during Roland's rampage in one of the Thumbs branch families)

@@dan_man3087 I think it was the Rumanos Cartel - one of the members of the Thumb in the cutscenes mentioned that the "Black Silence" destroyed them. Tanya was most likely the leader, if not, a member

Love watching your playthrough, I was just looking for a clip of Roland's battle but I came across this and legitimately enjoyed how much emotions and thoughts you have about these characters and your commentary on them haha. Wanting to save both Angela and Roland is such a mood, I love both of them.

Gone Angels was such a good song to listen to!

If you Looking at Roland Scream Card he was looking at Angelica Corpses she getting crush by a falling celling.

Eh.... I disagree. Ayin did many good things, but I don't think you could call him a "good person" until the Last Run of L Corp. Like, there's no justification aside from sheer apathy towards Angela's suffering for not giving her the emotional carthasis that Ayin wrote for every single other Sephirat, despitethe fact that Angela would be suffering the most from his plan. Both Roland and Ayin represent the City at it's worst. Ayin representing the Head, ruthlessly exploiting and manipulating the people around and under them to fulfill some higher goal. Roland reflects the brutal apathy and willful ignorance of it's inhabitants, and how they propagate the system even as it crushes them under it's wheels.

Hmh... The more i watch people The more i think that "i'am the only one who on a first try snubbed Angela"))(and i actually love her as a character! Soo...i guess i need to rethink myself about it all)(and even if i did it "to see what will happen" and even if i replayed this fight a couple times only for a "seeing all" kind of deal, its still says that i "kind of not that loving as i was thinking about Angela" hmm... Anyway, after you get to the end of this route, you need to try others)(because all they have fully separate story's, and good "what if" kind of deal to them)(so, dont forget about it at the end) And have fun, with our fully depressing game, where there is NONE good and happy endings!))(because its "what the sity like" and otherwise is impossible))(or...is it?))

I know I'm super super late and all (really sad i didn't get to be an assistant XD) but there's actually a theory I thought you'd like to know! So, you know how almost all ALEPH abnormalities were within the library as fights? There's a noticeable lack of CENSORED, which, in the context of the game, kinda makes sense. But... actually, it's thought to be that Roland's second phase IS CENSORED in its unveiled form! Pretty neat stuff if you ask me :D
