Always loved my JC in built Chorus and the reverb. So never needed to add anymore.

cool video! I own a jazz-chorus 90, love how it sounds with the depth all the way and the rate slow. I would still consider buying the pedal just cause it looks cool.

Depth maxed out and low rate sounds awesome. Thanks for watching!

I don’t think I’ve ever encountered someone else with a JC-90, love that amp

Thanks for the comparisons. Honestly, there’s no comparison. Pedal almost sounds like it’s bypassing… 🤔 I don’t hear ‘chorussing’ as much with the pedal until the rate was turned up a lot. The ‘noise’ on the JC can be annoying but it’s what it is. Apparently there is a capacitor fix for that. I have an original JC77 and a CE1. Both great for what they are. Still trying to get the best mic pair choice to capture the JC so it can be captured like a Leslie.

Man i found a Roland JC77 as a dumpster dive late last year. I fixed it up and it sounds great! But my main amp is a Tone King Sky King with my entire board. The JC77 is very light, so been thinking of buying a Boss Line Selector to blend it. It would save me $160 or so, and I have stereo setup for all my effects, with a wet dry situation...but i do like the simplicity of the pedal on my main amp. For me band practice can get weird with stereo amps. But being the only guitar player in my band..I think using a JC77 for it's chorus and give me an excuse to get a looper on the Roland JC to simulate two guitar players live.

I liked the pedal more. They were close but the pedal sounder fuller and more lush.

In the room with a stereo setup, the amp was much better...just has a really great feel. However, tracked I liked the pedal more as well. A lot warmer and really pleasing.

It's the mono vs stereo spread. In the room the stereo sound of the Roland will be much more pleasing but on a recording guitar just sounds best in mono which the CE2 definitely wins imo.

Just different I think. In the room you can’t beat the amp though when set up in stereo. It’s amazing.

The pedal sounds like exactly what it is, a hundred dollar stomp box. I could hear low level feedback in the high mids that wasn't present in the tone from the head which sounded warm, airy and natural. The Q of the modulation waveform in the head reaches much further into the lower frequency range. To be fair, this is a bit like comparing a brick house to a pup tent.
