Unfortunately, the Roland Owner/User Manuals miss the mark of being a complete guide to understanding their wonderful products! They got the "Owner" part okay, but they gotta nail down the "User" part a lot better! I am almost not even sure why they write them most times because all they do is have you flip around from page to page on a wild goose chase for the elusive answers. This video nailed it! Please keep doing these videos Mr. Mystery Roland Man.This was really very helpful. Cheers.

Hello, I think I have seen this same question by others, but I'm going to ask my own version. I just took delivery of my GR55. On my old GR30, I just hook the 13-pin cable tot he unit, then a regular chord to my amp. I can mix the sounds of the guitar pickup and the synth with the slider on my guitar. With my GR55, I can only hear the synth sounds, and the slider on the guitar does nothing. I realize I can route the piezo pickup out the guitar pickup and run it into another amp, but I would l;ike to just be able to use it like my old GR30. Can this be done? Thanks!

Is there any problem with latency ou low tracking in GR 55? Have someone of you ever compared this to other GRs such as 20 , 30, 33 or any other guitar synthesizer? It seems to me that GR33 sound more “fat” sound... And how about all those guitar and amp simulations? Are they really good? I mean, could someone compare to VG 88, for example? I Just can’t try one of these alive. Thanks for the answer!

I'm about to hook up a Godin Multiac ACS-SA to a GR-55 that's on its way to me in a few days so couldn't be more relevant. It's great to have a useful starting point for the settings and finally kissing goodbye to my old GI-20 that drove me nuts. Thank you.

Great video. I needed this to get my Godin tracking properly. It is 92%+/- there now thanks to this. Question. Could you please explain "Nuance" settings? This could be very helpful to me as I have an old Roland G-808, 1 GK-2 on a Strat, a GK-3 on a Taylor 314-CE (and it tracks beautifully!) and 2 GK2A's (yet to be mounted). I also have an ole GR-1 and the original VG-8; so, I am into this tracking stuff bigtime. Thanks again for your help. (Think "Nuance"... ;)

Já que é usuário do produto, talvez possa me ajudar. Essas simulações de violões, guitarras e amplificadores, vale a pena? Quer dizer, vale o preço? Você as considera honestas? Meus ouvidos dizem que sim, mas só pude ouvi-las pelo KZread infelizmente. Se puder responder-me, agradeço-o.

Hello .. I have a question or rather a request for possible help. When I write notes in TAB via MIDI (I have a Godin guitar with a 13-pin input, I connect it to the Roland GR 55 and then connect it to the computer with a midi-usb cable) using a guitar, the program records the sound "c" on the 2nd string, threshold 1. I would like so that he would write the note in a different position on the fingerboard, eg string 4, fret 10. But it does not happen. So it's not good, because the piece is recorded in the wrong position on the fingerboard. Do you know something about it? Maybe there are some solutions .. Using the guitar, I write notes in TAB much faster and more conveniently. I have been looking for a solution for several months. I am asking for a possible answer. I would be very grateful for any hint. Best wishes. MiroslaV

Nicola Fedele if you have two outputs on your amp you can use the guitar port on the guitar as well as the 13 pin and blend them how you like. Hope that helps

Nice video. My question is if the guitar is connected to the roland only with the 13-pin cable, and then you connect the normal jack from roland to the amplifier; or in addition to the 13-pin cable, you must also connect the normal jack from the guitar to roland. Thanks for the reply

The GR55 lets you create settings for different GK guitars. In the system menu in GK settings There are numbers for the settings scroll the wheel to go to a different one you want to change.. Give them a name instead of a number once you write them. Then when you change guitars, you just call the appropriate setting.

Hello! first of all congratulations for videos. I'm having trouble setting up my guitar godin concert grand with the Roland GR55. It happens that can only operate on synthesizer volume because the pure guitar volume does not appear. That's just get the sounds synthesized via Mid cable with no possibility of playing only the sounds of own guitar. How should I proceed?I appreciate your attention.

sidmar bordao hi there, I also noticed this on my new gr55 pedal with my multiac nylon. It didn't do it on my old gr20. I am just figuring it out but think you have to have the volume on half way on the midi control and then highlight guitar pickup on the menu and it gives you signal then when turning up and down on guitar pickup.
