I've watched competitive SC2 for what seems like a decade now. I can confidently say game 4 is the absolute best match I've ever seen. Watching this whole tournament live was something very special indeed. You will not find another game in SC2 history pre-2018 where both competitors plays were near perfect. Yes, you may find a hectic game, but they're full of mistakes. Serral and Rogue attacked and defended amazingly well. Their performance was high level and never dropped for THIRTY MINUTES!

I feel tired after watching that

"Can we see a repeat?" "Yeah sure" this was the only reason Stats was allowed to win a couple of games.

While his series against stats was the best sc2 series I have ever seen, the single best match I have seen was the final game of this series. This may be only my second favorite, but it was the most amazing ZvZ I have ever seen. This year had so many amazing games, many with serral in them. Raynor. Has. *All* the times he faced Lambo. This game vs rogue. The grand finals. I can go on for quite awhile talking about this year.

Thegame .Dev and the thing is... that approach worked! In I believe it was Montreal (or Valencia not sure) Lambo made it to the ace match. Although I dont believe for a second that’s correct. I do think lambo breaks out the weirdness vs serral, but its not just ‘lets try this’ its ‘this is made to throw him off’ Take his series VS maru for example. He may have lost 2-0 because of the simply massive skill gap, but both games he had maru read like a book. He knew what was coming and when, maru just played it too well for him to counter it. Let lambo improve his micro or learn to be like has and not need it, and he will be up there in the finals.

Serral just picked him apart... it was so nice to watch live. My heart was pumping! I loved the part at 8:49 when we switched to Serral's first person view. Most pros are impressive, but that was just something else. His control is out of this world.

That double drop at multiple locations, picking off drones and lifting off to another base to pick off drones there and lift off again without losing any roaches, all the while defending an attack. That was out of this world man!

Honestly one of if the most impressive display of Starcraft from Serral... this match was just AMAZING

This is the best Z v Z match played ever in all SC2 history.

Serral vs Reynor at Homestory Cup was insane. Serral vs SoO at Karowice game 3 was also very good.

Game 4: an efficiency clinic that would make Abathur proud.

Viper, essence acquired. Will serve to continue trading amazingly despite being down 30 workers. Gas bank stands strong. Opponent, making lings at 28 minutes into a ZvZ. Victory, imminent.

Rogue doing those "OOF" twice was very tell telling

Top quality play. The fourth game was insane. It was kind of enjoyable to see Rouge's steamroller tactics fall short against Serral's efficiency. On the other hand, it is sad to see someone lose in a gamestyle where he thought he was unbeatable. Just how far the resources lost tabs were in the end, I wonder? It seemed Rouge never faced an opponent like this. When he tried to throw the finishing blows, he failed again and again. He tought he could afford it, because he mined so much before, but now the opponent had plenty of resources in reserve. Serral will wear you down on the long run, no matter what you do. His face looked so drained in the end. He was clearly bested, but there is no shame in it, he played very well.

I watched the replay and its about 20000 in favor of serral. Absolutely insane

Maybe the best ZvZ Series ever

So freaking awesome!!! Bloody legend Serral!

Remember that Serral was only the 3rd best foreign player in 2017 behind Neeb and Elazer but Elazer fell off a bit in 2018, Neeb remained about the same and Serral blew up to a god level.

Jaedong would be so proud of both players. I just wish the subscription list did not spoil the grand finals. spoiler: I would really like to hear rogue's comments post game. I don't think hes ever faced a zerge of any origin like this before.

If I had to compare Serral to any Korean zerg I'd say he's Rogue but more consistent and just stronger (Idk about experience but to me, it seems Serral is just a better version of Rogue)

They need to make a new AI level called Serral

WOW !! makes my play sratcraft again !!

In the last game, Rogue held the top left base for a long time but he never mined a single gas from it. He was going broke on gas at the end of the game and that's what ended up being his downfall was in lack of gas. Why he didn't see that coming and why he didn't take into account how cost efficient Serral could be, I don't know. He had a ton of minerals, he should have been mining gas like crazy, especially considering how many workers he had and how much he desperately needed gas to win the game!

I wish these spectator camera angles were available in game, no advantage with fog of war just a nicer camera angle zoomed right out

I always watch these games at 1.5x speed, makes it so much better and more intense

My god, Serral just kept that last game going to prove a point. He could have won at any time past the 20 minute mark, but he wanted to show how much he can outclass his rival in the lategame. It was almost... impolite

I play basketball competitively in college. I haven't played Starcraft in my life. But something about this Serral guy is so amazing, I just can't stop watching his game...

If you can't understand that Serral is a different player from then, then there is not much I can do to make you understand. HE IS THE BEST PLAYER IN THE WORLD AND NO ONE CAN DENY IT.

This reminds me of that day, when I was working at Subway, my mate had called in sick so I was there, all on my own. Everything was fine, until a whole soccer team came and ordered 24 foot longs, in the middle of the frenzy my girlfriend called to tell me she was pregnant. I went to the back to cry a little, and then when I was wiping my tears I remembered I had chilli in my hands. I called the manager and told him I was done, when I got home, I was feeling a little better, but then my girlfriend called again, to tell me she was sorry, the kid wasn't mine. The players? They are in soundproof booths, they have earbuds with the game sound and over that they have a headset that blasts white noise.

perfect casting.... aside from the guy talking whose split personality is godzilla

rogue survived impressively long in the fourth game! just goes to show how evenly matched these pros are. It is only small differences and marginal mistakes that decides who is the winner and who is the loser.

In a Zerg VS Zerg, does the creep generated by one team different from the creep of the opposite team?

The commentators misread Rogue's expression after Game 2. Rogue was thinking, "Wow, Serral gifted me a map by rushing. I barely plugged the ramp or I would have died. I'll take it."

As a casual viewer it is a bit confusing that the players switch places and color in the UI. Can you not keep them the same for all rounds?

The places will definitely change between games due to the nature of the game. There's some advantage to the map orientation for super high level players. The colors should stay the same between games until you are going into the player's view where they MAY be different

You could get it if you build a building with a drone, then it loses it's supply count. When you train another unit in the mean time and cancel the building later, you get the 201/200. Players also use this as a trick to get 15/14 in the early stages of the map sometimes. They call it the extractor trick.
