If he had one and it would've been a lightsaber more customized than Darth Maul I think he'd be in big trouble. BUT a lightsaber is just a lightsaber Dubbel single or one that has a hand guard like Kylo's looking like a medieval sword still how powerful it can be depends on the one who wields it am I right?

I think Donnie Yen said in an interview that he couldn't really see in those contact lenses, which means he was doing all this half-blind FOR REAL. Mad respect for that man.

That's not a problem, as he actually belongs to a different religion. He is a Guardian of the Whills, which is a paralel religion to Jediism. He isn't a Jedi because that's not his religion.

Mad respect for demonstrating that the force is not just some kenetic power. It's something that can be tapped into to feel the influence of the surrounding energy. Something we haven't actually seen demonstrated since a new hope. I.e when luke was blinded against the training droid with his light saber.

The Unknown Gaming Stormtrooper armour protects you from environmental hazards in general (specialised ones for more extreme environments) and primitive attacks such as sticks and stones. Against blaster fire, it can deflect glancing shots but the main point is to survive a direct hit. That doesn't mean it lets you keep fighting though - a direct hit will most likely take you out for the rest of the battle. In this, stormtrooper armour is indeed better than clone armour: Phase 2 clone armour gives a 40% chance of walking away from the battlefield, while stormtrooper armour has odds of 60%. If you don't survive, it still helps to keep your body in one piece. The outfit is either a life-saver or a body bag.

Honestly, Chirrut was the best character in Rogue One.

Out of all the Star Wars movies, the originals, prequels, shows, everything, this was my favorite. IT FEELS like the originals, with an upstart crew against an evil empire, charming cast, but made with modern CGI and better fighting choreography. Rogue One is still my favorite

Why they don’t have these two as heroes in Battlefront 2 but have Captain Phasma who got only half of the screen time combined is beyond me.

Okay, I have to say this, because me and my husband were actually talking about this JUST YESTERDAY: Has everyone forgotten that Luke, Han, and Leia were *supposed* to get off the Death Star? The whole idea was that they would lead the Death Star to Yavin, which would have been hard to do if they were all shot in the first 10 minutes of escaping. For contrast, compare the boarding of The Blockade Runner in the beginning of the movie. They take out pretty much the entire crew, with only a few casualties. Now, I know the stuff in the hallway/garbage chute was probably unscripted, but the rest? We're talking about Tarkin here, I have no doubt that within *minutes* of hearing reports of a disturbance, he was plotting. No way would he have left something like that to chance.

Lord Vader has instructed me to deliver his notes on this battle: 0:39 - Why did this storm trooper get shot? There's no movement or diversion prompting this. Whoever shot him is fired. 0:43-0:48 Storm trooper on the right can keep his job. Obviously he's trying. 0:48 - Storm trooper on ground gives up when his helmet is tapped by a foot. Fired. 0:49 - Wait, did he just drop his gun before getting kicked? He's fired too. 0:50 - Storm trooper running around in background not shooting. Fired. 0:52 - Storm trooper flinches when some dirt hits his visor. Fired. 0:53 - Storm trooper wobbles in like he's got hemorrhoids and doesn't shoot until point blank. Fired. 0:59 - Storm trooper runs in not shooting and gets slapped by a kata. Fired. Sorry guys but it's Darth's notes. You know how he can be a stickler, but that's how you get the best.

At 0:39, Chirrut smacks the Stormtrooper's gun as he's about to fire causing him to hit the trooper behind him. Although the timing does seem just a little bit off.

I like when he kicks up some sand and the stormtrooper acts like he's not wearing a helmet covering his eyes.

An advice they took to heart when they did the throne room scene

Storm Trooper 1: He’s blind.. Storm Trooper 2: Is he deaf? (Beats all the storm troopers up) Storm trooper 2: ...(beaten up on the ground face down)...are you sure he’s blind? Storm Trooper 3: ...(laying on his back) Join the empire...see the galaxy...visit different worlds....BULLSHIT!!...I must of missed the fine print where it says “there might be blind guys that can kick your ass up and down an ally.”

0:52 I like how he kicked sand into the Stormrroopers eyes blinding him for a brief moment.

I love the way they showed the force in this film like it’s something divine.

I forgot this dudes name and he still has better character development than Rey did in three movies

People who watch this and think it's badass but haven't seen any other Donnie film or fight don't know what they're missing. This serious pales in comparison to a vast majority of his other fights

They always make donnie yen blind bc they know giving him vision makes him undefeatable

My dream of an alternate sequel series is that Rey is the child of Cassian and Jyn (who survived) and Chirrut trained Rey as a Force spirit, keeping an eye on her when she is separated from her parents due to Resistance/First Order conflict. Wish they'd given Rey just one scene like this before she left Jakku to make her skills apparent before they gave her a lightsabre! Something a bit more Arya-Stark-in-training. Oh well! Scenes like this are gold and I will cherish every single one!

The one time Stormtroopers actually hit someone, it's when they hit their own.

Saw this in cinemas, just seen the Ip Man trilogy and had to come back. This guy's martial arts was one of the most refreshing characters in Star Wars

The director had to protect the talentless jedi master actors. We all know that Donnie is the real talent and if given a lightsaber would render the jedi 'masters' a joke.

Came back to find this after watching John Wick 4 and was like… didn’t he play a blind man somewhere else? Lol

They made him blind because if he wasn’t, he would be unstoppable

What’s more embarrassing than getting beat up by a bunch of teddy bears in return of the Jedi? Getting beat up by one blind man with a stick

The way they both delivered those lines was pure comedic gold.

in rogue one Donnie Yen played a blind forced user a few years later he played a Blind Assassin in John Wick Chapter 4.

The only time where you really see a martial art expert in a Star Wars movie.

best lines in the movie

Gareth Edwards and the writers of Rogue One knew so much more about Star Wars than the jokers writing the sequel trilogy. We've got a guy here who is a guardian of the Whills, a strong Force user who isn't a Jedi. The writers got so much right in this movie and even delved deep into Star Wars lore to pull this character out of the oblivion of material. One of my favorite Force users in Star Wars. It shows that the Jedi and Sith didn't own the Force, there were other people who knew the Force to a deep extent. This guy is blind, for Christ's sake. He doesn't use a lightsaber, just a staff. But he's so strong with the Force that he can literally see and do crazy things. THIS is Disney's path to better movies. Follow these storylines, like Lucas was going to do in his sequel trilogy. A guardian of the Whills, I love it.

Come back after watching John Wick 4, cause Donnie Yen's character reminds me of this

I love how that Stormtrooper suddenly hits his target perfectly when his buddy is being used as a human shield.

I like how the villagers in the background instantly start raiding the x-wing when the stormtroopers become distracted XD

I like how with Yen, the force is seen from the perspective of Dao and they treat it in such a similar manner. Really cool.

The closest we had for a Star Wars and Ip Man crossover

Man, imagine being cast a stormtrooper in this scene. I would have loved to put on the outfit and get my ass kicked by Donnie yen haha

Can we agree this film's band of heroes are some of the coolest characters in SW?

If I had a nickel every time donny yen played a blind assassin, I’d have two, which isn’t much, but it’s weird that it happened twice

Damn, at this point: every western movie director will be hiring him as the OP blind man. Rogue One and now John Wick 4

We desperately need more Star Wars content that’s just as amazing as this movie was, and still is.

This scene and the final 5 minutes makes the ticket price worth every penny

I laughed harder than I should have about this thread.

This movie was a masterpiece honestly one of my all time favorites, i loved everything about it but Chirrut and Vaders halway scene were the highlights of this film much better than the last 3

The entire Galactic Empire: “I don’t fear you” Donnie Yen with Force sensitivity and a Lightsaber: “Then you will die braver than most”

Top stormtrooper lows in this scene: Honorable mentions: -Cant shoot a blind guy -Shoots another stormtrooper Coming in at #1: 0:51 Gets dust in his eye, even though he wears a fricking helmet.

While a stormtroopers have incorporated targeting computers and thermals in their helmet, the equipment is sensitive and getting sand on those sensors pr any other obscurity would be lile actually getting hit in the eyes with something causing this actual knee jerk reaction.

Plot holes

Imagine what he could have done as a Jedi-shaolin monk style, with Yoda's same level force control, a good vision and a lightsaber. Darth Vader would have been in danger my friends.
