***** No wonder! No "man" on earth, even Freddie, has ever been able to replicate Roger's falsetto and quite frankly damn few females with the exception of a few opera singers. Roger's young voice was a sonic Banshee! Hell, if had formed his own group and used that falsetto, Banshee would have been the perfect name.

Izayoi Higurashi In 1970’s, I was a HUGE fan. Thought RT’s voice was other-worldly and his looks were jaw-dropping.

Funny how so many assume it was Freddie hitting those super high notes. It was the DRUMMER! Great singer in his own right, and could have/should have fronted his own band after Queen tragically lost Freddie.

Not to be "that guy" but Freddie could hit high notes as well. Roger was just more consistent with his highs, while Freddie was not. So, while Freddie did sing notes as high as Roger on recordings he would apparently get Roger to sing a lot of highs live because he could be counted on to do them more than Freddie. Both of them are great singers with different strengths/weaknesses.

I never implied that Roger was a BETTER singer than Freddie. not at all. Just that on the recordings, I can tell its his voice doing the highest notes. Beyond that, RT was the only member with true front man looks. Had he desired, when YOUNGER, he could/should have fronted his own band.

It's kind of weird listening to his speaking voice in interviews which seems very calm, his singing voice which is just really rough (just like in Tenement Funster) and then there's this total contrast shown by these high notes that are reached

Because he was in his 20s when he sang most of his highest notes, and he's now in his 60s. Being a heavy smoker certainly wouldn't have helped. He's actually singing pretty well recently though, listen to 'A Kind of Magic' or 'These Are The Days of Our Lives' live in 2012, best he's performed those in years.
