I'd like to know why Floyd about Floyd being more offensive now. Since the Mosely fight, he has been walking fighters down. is that a Roger influence or is it just diminishing legs. Because Roger is known as the offensive fighter and Floyd Sr was the defensive guy.

  • @J-Hue

I think his fight with Canelo will tell quite a bit. Against Ortiz I saw the size of Ortiz and the weight of his punches moving Floyd back at times in their short fight. Although Canelo's not as active offensively, I think he can do some damage if he's able to connect to Mayweather's body early. Mayweather will def have to keep those feet moving if he wants to win this one convincingly. I still don't know who's close to his weight that I see beating him atm, but 2/3 years from now, who knows?

Neither Floyd Sr or Roger completely made Floyd. Sr laid down the basic fundamentals that he and Roger share, but when Floyd shifted to Roger he became more offensive minded. That's where they differ. Roger will always place a higher emphasis on offense than Sr, while Sr is always looking to make you stay defensively minded.

And again, who is the better trainer?Myself, I go with Roger as the better trainer-but i'm undecided as to who was the better pug.It would've been a hell of a fight!! dcp-boxeo

macmittens585 yes there was tension because Roger took Floyd Jr under his wing and created the fighter he is. Roger told Jr if you want to be champ he has to have one trainer he couldn’t go back and forth but then Sr got hooked on drugs so Roger was his father and mentor. Because of Roger Floyd Jr is a multi millionaire.

Floyd took his dad back, but Roger is still in Camp as you saw in the Guerroro fight, Mayweather Snr, Has the best defence and he teaches Floyd how to defend better and stop getting hit, Cotto was hitting him hard, Mosley even Ortiz was hitting him. You see Guerrero was meant to be a hard hitter, he couldn't touch Floyd
