I cannot express how much I loved this demo. I never ever feel the urge or think it’s worth it, but I actually want to buy whatever instructional videos he has! I’ll never be able to produce anything like him but just to watch him paint and hearing him, and the utter beauty he creates would be so worth it just for that. One of the best painters I’ve ever come across.

Hey Roger, I have a few of your paintings from past workshop offerings, and I really enjoyed seeing you work again. I was once inspired to work on a new landscape. I so appreciate how openly you share how you get colors for those of us who wonder around i the weeds looking for the right color or value. You're the genuine article.

It was very interesting to watch Roger D. Brown explain the steps in the barn painting. I really like the way he block the background for setting the tones and values in the painting. Thank you for the demonstration. Made some relational connections with the tones and cues.

Such a great video. The layering is so effective, but I find it difficult to do. Keeping the layers thin so they don't pull up too much of the under-layer takes skill. Also impressed by your composition and simplification of the original photo reference. It paid off enormously! My instinct would be to make a network of fencing in the foreground. But the omission makes the painting so beautiful. Learned lots of tips from this and now must practice!! Thank you.

I love this video- the one thing I dont like is he references from a painting instead of a photo. Why?
