Learn and mastering painting is a must have course 20 dvd plus 3 dvd's $249.00 now $89.00 for short time.
Such a shame that this guy turned into a massive scam artist. @artscamworldwide
❤
Nice, video too bad you didn't have a better microphone on him, hard to understand him and then you also put on music drown him out
Your over thinking it.
May I ask what blue did you use?
This W. Waterhouse painting is also one of my very favourites maybe one day I ll gather the courage to make one too. Thanks so much for the inspiration and your work is beautiful✨❤ 🌹
An astounding speaker, Richard Ormond is of the "Old School" and speaks English as it should be spoken; he enunciates each word only as an actor would: an ideal candidate for a lecture! And so knowledgeable---he throws light on Sargeant and puts his paintings 'into context'. The audiance was very fortunate to lisen to this master of oratory and erudition! Grazie mille!!!
Which Is easier to do large or smaller head sculptures ps thanks for Sharing very educational
Very nice
Great
Good info I’m sure but the quality of the video terrible
The sitter was painted as much more light skin than reality. Sad. Suckered.
Living a romantic fantasy life. Weirdo !
????
Such a great video. The layering is so effective, but I find it difficult to do. Keeping the layers thin so they don't pull up too much of the under-layer takes skill. Also impressed by your composition and simplification of the original photo reference. It paid off enormously! My instinct would be to make a network of fencing in the foreground. But the omission makes the painting so beautiful. Learned lots of tips from this and now must practice!! Thank you.
Very interesting video, a huge screen showing everything and then pictures of something completely different over the original footage, imagine you watch "Titanic" and then pictures of smth different can be seen 3/4 of the screen. Absolute idiotic.
If i would really have to care about a sargent painting, then i def. would say: "This thing goes nowhere".
A lecture of one of the most revered artists ever to pick up a brush, punctuated by an ad for poop. Congrats on the art of mixing subtlety with greed. Can you not edit your adverts please?
I cannot express how much I loved this demo. I never ever feel the urge or think it’s worth it, but I actually want to buy whatever instructional videos he has! I’ll never be able to produce anything like him but just to watch him paint and hearing him, and the utter beauty he creates would be so worth it just for that. One of the best painters I’ve ever come across.
Amazing lecture, thank you so very much. You brought Sargent to life. Such an awe inspiring artist, and man.
A copy of this painting in the original size is hanging in my sleeping room.
Great survey from a uniquely informed authority. Among many other things, Sargent's career makes one feel small.
Simply beautiful work and the wax paper is genius!
Wonderful demo!
If only he wouldn’t say err, umm all the time…
Beautiful work! Thank you for sharing this thorough and approachable lesson. And your pallet! It looks IDEAL! Did you make it yourself or are such things available to purchase?
Thank you for the good words!! I bought the shadow box at Hobby lobby for under $20 8x10 size and put gray palette paper and a piece of 8x10 glass on top. I place 3 or 4 bottle caps with clove oil in them and this keeps the paint ready and wet for weeks and sometimes months. WHEN the top is kept closed. I also have a 3rd session for this painting here. kzread.info/dash/bejne/nn53s6eOnNLgirw.html as well as a 4th final session.
Delicadeza,o feminino em toda sua extensão pictórica!
a third of the video in. Interesting take on the order/prioritization of the elements of a painting. He said, Value, Color, Edge then Drawing. But im pretty sure drawing is present throughout even during the initial composition. His block in already is pretty much spot on at the beginning. He later on clarified that he meant to finalize drawing at the very end once the other three are pretty much spot on. I guess its a process that assumes that ones has a level of drawing skill that will need little correction later on his fourth priority.
Good insight on the cooking analogy. trust the procees and methods. Interesting too that he has different pools of paint for white on his palette.
exactly! he definitely has drawing skills in figurure and portrait already as his second nature, otherwise he would not put the values and colors on the correst spots.... so -if you are watching this, and you are a beginner, there is no way you can finish a portrait if your drawing skills are not in place from the get go....
What an incredible lecture. It's things like THIS that make up for the nastiness of the internet. Thank you so much for making this available to us all.
Is there a way to post a picture of my painting? I have soul of the rose painting. I would like to Post a picture
Scott is a legend, thanks for uploading this one.
Great painter
Richard Ormond's lectures on Sargent are the best online. Brilliantly insightful, rich in first-hand knowledge of his subject, witty and completely engaging. There is no one else even, "in the ballpark."
not very difficult if youre a relative, lol
@@andyhuwe8462 Not necessarily! Still takes knowledge, presentation skills and insight…
Can someone put the name of the paper he made the sketchbook out of?
Where did you get that skull for reference
Awesome.
Good job, Sur. Camera person needs oractice
Why do Americans always put tutorials on with music over the top of the speaker, why...
The part where he describes the order of priorities really helped! Thanks for posting this Christine :)
wow this is better than picasso
Possibilité translation french 😢🤗😍
Yes! this man is an amazing artist and a very handsome man. Wow! I love this video a lot, this, definitely one of my favorites videos. Martin,
Great instruction, your videos are great, but if you don't mind me saying so, the sound is terrible.
Super
Super
Glad to see you working. I only saw you in Art Magazines One of my idol.
Absolutely gorgeous! My favorite fruit to paint are grapes. I still struggle with them. I want to keep trying to get better. I have just subscribed to your channel but I’m not sure if you have posted anything lately. Very interesting. What size is your notebook and what kind of paper is? Lovely work. Blessings for each day. Take care and be safe.
Christine, I love watching your videos, thank you for sharing them with us. I have a question about this particular one. Did Mary paint three different portraits or are these computer generated. If she only painted one and the other two are copies done in different hues which one is the original. Thank you.
Thank you Sheila for the kind words. I showed 3 different images I found online and all are of the same painting. This is how most images vary with printing, photography, resolution etc. Only one painting but so many versions which is why it is important to get good accurate photos of your own work!! Keep watching and thanks again for commenting!!
