Roger is so amazing. I'll never forget seeing him and Davo during the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. ESPN had this amazing outdoor set and in the middle of their nightly "wrap up" show they'd hand it over to these two lunatics, the Men in Blazers. I've followed them ever since, buying all their books, listening to their podcasts, and just relishing the unbridled joy that Rog and Davo bring. Colbert had no idea what he was in for with this guy, he is truly a treasure.
Roger just gushing beautiful poetic answers and Stephen is just like " So okay next question"

That’s his one big problem when interviewing people in my personal opinion, I’ll blame it mostly on the format of his show and his effort to appeal to the live audience because he was much better with interviews in the small room, but basically unless it’s an old pal he knows, he can feel rushed at times or like he’s waiting for his turn to speak.

Are you actually from Liverpool or are you like John Oliver, supporting a team from a city that you only have a tangential connection with.
@Elephantstonica
2 жыл бұрын
@@robertdraper5782 Nowt wrong with that. A city isn’t its team or teams, a team isn’t its city, and the fans aren’t the team or the city. You don’t have to be from a place to support a team. I’ve supported Arsenal all my life, and always will, due to the fact I grew up watching them alongside Peter Marinello and his boys. At my house it was predominantly cricket and rugby. I have no real association to North London. I also follow the Cherries coz I was born in Boscombe but I will always place Arsenal (for my sins no doubt) above them or else. They were an integral part of my youth. Still love the Cricket (Test) and Rugger too mind.

Soccer has no commercials except half-time. It’s not that Americans aren’t sold on it, it’s that media can’t sell anything during it. So it’ll never become popular here.

1:10 Americans are entertained by physicality. Massive sized players in basketball and NFL, big tackling etc as well as pre arranged positional plays that make fantasy versions very interactive. We in the rest of the world care about insane levels of skill, touch, technique and flair as well as the athleticism and speed involved…in other words association football (soccer) is just way better 😂, when Americans comment that it’s too difficult to “make a goal” think about what you are actually saying about your favourite sports!
