    Hey man... I wish you did a PC Build video for motion graphics designers and video editors. We don't actualy care so much about render speed, but much more with real time playback. Especialy in After Effects. You could do a budget PC, a mid range and the best it's relevant to have... Sometimes we are wishing for hardware that's just not good for us. I'd be very happy if you took this idea in consideration. Other than that, thanks for your content. Love from Brazil.

    Do any of the 2023 scar 17s have the gimmicky red keystone drive? Or was that a 2022 thing? Looking at picking this model up this weekend and this being the G733PZ-XS96 version with the 4080 and the 7945hx. The listing shows the model with the keystone and the ROG websight shows the model doesn’t and I would like to hopefully confirm this model doesn’t have it as I feel it’s kind of a useless function. Any advice would be appreciated.

    Great Review! Im also a Fan of the 16:9 aspect ratio. That was one reason i choose the scar 17. Nebula would be cool, Sure, but it would be so much more expensive. So Asus did everything right, in my opinion

    How are you liking it. Do you have any videos on the scar 17 i am also thinking of buying it over the 18 just to edit some videos and play some games. How is battery life ?

    Actually, the ACER Predator 17 inch laptop from 2016 has a GREAT trackpad. not large but very satisfying, works well, and has two good buttons (I never really understood why the removed these, the buttons were so practical and you knew EXACTLY where you had to press, and just whacked the button happily.) It had the best keyboard EVER, I've never typed on any keyboard, laptop, desktop, external etc, before or after it, which felt better to type on than its keyboard. Great design, keys of good size, large enter key, very solid build, just the best laptop design EVER!

    Great review. Helped me decide to go for this one. I will be picking it up tomorrow 😋 1 suggestion: Don't look down too much. It's annoying. Move your 2nd screen from which you read your notes near the camera (just my assumption). No offense intended.

    I have 2 questions. Does the Asus logo on the back glow? 2. is there really any big difference between 16-inch & 17-inch because I'm currently using a 17-inch one, if I suddenly switch to 16 inch one would it feel smaller?

  • @Kamadev888

    @Kamadev888

    Yes, it would. Definitely you'd notice a difference. Remember that 17" actually means 17,3", which means it's a full 1.3 inches bigger in diagonal.

    I bet it's Premiere is having issues with AMD CPUs. No way a 16-core high clock CPU like the 7945HX won't cut through 10 bit video editing on any codec. I do 10 Bit BRAW Editing on my 8 Core 11th Gen Core i7 CPU and I playback my footage at full and 1/4 if the timeline gets crazy

    When you use premiere pro you need to manually go into system settings for windows and adjust device settings. On default it runs in only the cpu. You need to manually give access to premiere pro to use the GPU as well. I'm sure he didn't know that/did that in this video. Given the specs of this cpu in combination with this GPU those tasks in premiere pro should definitely run smoothly!

    i'm surprised that this rtx 4080 is unable to edit 4k 10bit video in adobe premiere.

  • @mobiscrub

    video editing on premiere pro is a CPU heavy task. GPU doesn't play much of a role in real-time playback of 4K 4:2:2 10-bit files. GPU kicks in when you start loading a lot of graphics, animations, transitions, effects, etc. You require very high single core performance, super fast read-write SSD speeds to really playback those super data heavy video fiiles. GPU is basically spectating.

    Someone else pointed this out when reviewing the AMD processor. Intel has optimizations specifically for premier that AMD does not. Apparently the 7945HX out performs intel in other video editing software like black magic.

    As awesome as Ryzen 9 zen4 cpu's are , Its just dumb to go for this laptop , when there's a Mini Led more spacius 16:10 display ROG Strix Scar 16 with better thermals triple fan design . Its plain stupid and unfair ROG isnt packing Ryzen 7945HX with New Design !

    Unless you live somewhere where they don't sell the Strix Scar 16 and just have the Strix G16. Then the Strix Scar 17 is not so dumb!

    Its not dumb obviously you are uneducated the scar 16 and 18 are having heaps of problems with coil whine and problems. Also Mini Led and Oled use PWM with 60% of the population getting eye strain and headaches from PWM i think the 17 will do way better than the other Asus laptops and Mini Led has terrible latency and it crazy slower than ips so for competitive shooters and other games Mini led is trash.
