This piece, Echoes, has a profound spiritual message that tells us to reconnect with a part of ourselves-that part that is the most pure, the most humane piece of ourselves.
When we do this, we can truly connect with all living beings on a very elemental level. It’s a practice that we can all do anytime, without the use of any device :-) 😊
The simple act of just being, just existing as we listen to it it is a deeply hippie dippy message and it means a lot to us and we hope it does to you too!
Please enjoy! 😘😘😘

November of 1971 I'm 18 still living at home, it's Saturday, Dad expects help in the yard but I convince Mom that I'm sick and need to spend the day in my room. I drop acid and spend the day (or a lifetime on the floor) between my stereo speakers and that was first time I heard Echoes and it became a part of me. Now at 67 the music is still just as devastating as ever. Rodrigo y Gabriela, you've made an old man cry tears of joy. Soul to Soul, much love, Jeff

Funny that ...I was sixteen , just out of school , did the same thing...and rarely looked back. So now at 65 , I still get the same buzz hearing this. Amazing. Such a great version of this masterpiece. Thank you ! Dave

This has got to be one of the most ambitious covers I've ever seen attempted, let alone by a guitar duo. Anybody expecting a perfect, note-for-note duplication of Floyd's original composition knows nothing about recording technology. Two 6-string guitars cannot possibly reproduce the efforts of a multi-tracked 4-piece band that honed the tracks for months in a rehearsal space. But the spirit of the composition certainly is there, and I heartily recommend this stellar interpretation! Thank you, R&R! We love you!

The first time I heard of Rodrigo y Gabriela they were the opener for Gomez at the Warfield. The lighting guy I was working with found out I play classical guitar, and he suggested I check out their opening act. He said they were a smoking duo that I didn't wanna miss. Come showtime, I skeptically went out into the house to see what he was talking about. At that time there were maybe 50 people in the whole theater. After they finished their first tune, nobody in the audience applauded right away; everyone just stood there with their jaws on the ground in total awe of what they had just seen. It took me a minute to wrap my head around what I had just seen. Needless to say, my mind was blown. I still feel like I owe that lighting guy something for introducing me to them because if he hadn't said anything I would've just slept through their set like I normally do.

As a lifelong Floyd fan (since 1972) I used to think their more out-there and symphonic works could never be covered. I'm happy to have been proven wrong in so many ways, not least because it shows that their music lives on and continues to inspire new generations. I never imagined I'd hear Echoes (my all-time favourite track) performed flamenco style, but the two of you have achieved this in a way that honours the original work and takes it to new places. Thank you, and all the best for your future endeavours.

Meddle - a vastly underrated album which I was lucky enough to hear in preview and to introduce the band! I messed the intro up as I thought it was roadies behind me and Gilmour had to gently tell me they were ready ... but they played a blinder! Still probably one of my top Floyd albums. I think side one of Atom Heart Mother is also neglected.

Mind blowing song. Their version was a really heavy lift, and they prevailed. Who says “There is this great psychedelic 27 minute song played on all kinds of synthesizers, a drum kit the size of Hawai’i, one of the world’s great guitar players and a fabulous bass player. We are going to cover it as a duet, mostly acoustic guitars, and with a tinge of flamenco, live.” Well, who says that and then pulls it off.

It has been 50 years now since Pink Floyd recorded Echoes. I was 19 at the time and had nothing to do with it. LOL Just a historic note.

It was such a surprise to hear this at an R&G concert (before Metta came out). Echoes is my favorite song. Only R&G could do it justice transferring it to acoustic, which is not easy! I like the subtle improvements to this version over the album. Can't wait to see you guys live again!

Everybody's a critic...... Those bowls don't produce any sound used in echoes which was B3 organ, guitar and Bass. Going in I was like if I hear some humpback whale sounds I'm good and Rodrigo delivered on the whales so it's all good, imo. VERY GOOD as a matter of fact coming from a guy who saw Floyd do this Live way back in the day. 🎧

I drop by here, occasionally, when I'm feeling blue. One of *THE* best covers I've listened to, ever. IMHO. Not literal, but no so far from the original. Balanced. Just right. For me. Keep playing, please. I dose your music to myself very, very carefully, leaving it for the tough times that may be coming. And: Rest in Peace, Mr. Richard Wright ... We loved you. We loved you all. OK. At least, me... And, yes. As always. Beat my English.
