Somehow, Greg’s mom looks way less annoying than the one in the book, but the actress still gives off that Karen energy. However, she just looks like she wants to get her crazy family under control instead of actively wanting to embarrass her son. It’s crazy how a design ALONE can or cannot make a character look more or less entitled. THIS is how you do it, future filmmakers! The acting in these movies is surprisingly amazing. They really put their love into them. Why can’t all book-to-film movies be like this?
3:45 Okay but like why was this so adorable 😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️
yknow the more i grew up, the more i realize how great his character is in the movies. greg heffley struggled on how "popular" he should be in school, trying to pry out from that "wimpy kid" stereotype by acting "cool". while rodrick is out, discovering his personality and going out of his comfort zone. he still has his own struggles of course, much like a teenager would: struggled to talk to girls, being an ass to younger siblings, or being overly cocky. but he is secure of himself by playing by his band, writing songs, being weird etc. he knows that even if people are not too fond of the "rock music" or style he wants to be in, he was never afraid to express his genuine self.

He isn't being a Jerk to his siblings He just messes with them, my dad does that all the time and I love him
I’m pretty sure my obsession with edgy bad boys started because of him
"what do you have to say, to women??" "..im sorry, women." *Random clapping*

And the kids grew up, then Mom moved to L.A., changed her name to Linda, and became Lucifer's personal therapist
hes so real tbh
The fact that I despised Rodrick when I read the books as a kid, then I grew up to find him hot says a lot…

Rodrick's great. He and his band are passionate and having fun no matter what. He has a huge cycle of friends, like, just look at how many people came to his spontaneous party. He has his flaws but who doesn't. I genuinely don't get why his parents are so disappointed in him

I think his mom is more supportive of him. Like, she was dancing to his band at the talent show. Besides, and I know this one's exclusively about the books, but she was upset with Frank for driving away Rodrick's, "fans," with classical music.

Rodrick is almost exactly like my older sister, the only difference is shes a clean freak. The first thing she told me when I got gifts from my relatives and I felt guilty was "never do something when someone else can do it for you"

So is your older sister Heather Hills? (just asking because you compared her to Rodrick and in the one of the movies, after Holly described her older sister to Greg, Greg said she sounded like Rodrick in a dress).
'im sorry women' is my all time favorite rodrick line
He is so much better in the movie then in the books if you ask me
He will forever be fine to me. My motto is…..if he’s lanky with fluffy hair 👀😌

Let’s be honest- we all had a crush on Rodrick at some stage of our lives
He really set the mean brother standard so high for other actors. The diary of a wimpy kid movies were the blueprint. Best book to movie adaptation, hands down😌
They need to make a sequel about Rodrick being in high school. To get his perspective on everything I think that would be super interesting. Rodrick was literally the best part of all of the movies the fact that the fourth movie couldn’t even cast him or the other actors is so freaking pathetic.
Live, Laugh, Rodrick
