Yes, you did a good job, but the storyline is total crap in my opinion! I mean, come on! Transformers running on organic matter instead of energon?! And what's with the whole "give up and die" plotline man?! I want to ask the writers that!

Bad, awful. stupid. that is what this series was. no wander why IDW lost the license. selling despair and hopelessnes to readers, instead of inspiring. the TF have always showed there is hope. Rodimus was the personification of Hope, and even Prime made a return, same as other TF that when necessary made a return. at least on most of their first runs things were like that.. Decepticons were not as stupid as to take the war to a level as described in this series. Even Galvatron joined forces with Optimus, and Decepticons here and there ended befirending humans, some to the point as chnging sides. and using humans as fuel? how stupid is that premise, there are no resources like solar enrgy, wind, water that are way more powerful to what the TF could get out of humans. and heck they are in space how many resource are out there? Tesla envision them and in many stuff he has been proven right. so imagining a universe where this could happen is stupid! even insecticons could process crops and turn them into energon. lol his is sad a really sad ending!

This story reminds me of the post apocalyptic scenarios I put my G1 toys through with a handful of Autobots left on a burned out Earth being hunted by Galvatron and what was left of the Cons. It always came down to just two bots left, one time it was Kup and Galvy himself, with Kup somehow surviving and also possessing the memories of his fallen comrades thanks to his 5.25 in floppy disc drive. The 80s were crazy.

@@YautjaSpacePirate I couldn’t understand why in Last Bot Standing the stars kept getting burned out, especially since the remnant cybertronians were harvesting organic matter. Were the transformers such energy guzzlers that solar energy, fissionable elements, geothermal and doubtless more advanced energy production technologies just not enough to sustain even a small population? I guess I’m missing some set up for the story (which was a good story, just flawed in a few ways).

Not so much passed the torch so much as murdered optimous prime and replaced him with a trashy luke skywalker ripped off that had a worse toy then ironhide. Yeah, Rodimus and the idiocy of the TF movie metaphorically and literally killed the transformers. Gi-Joe died as a side effect as well.

@@incognit01233 I saw this, so I'll make a response. I'm still saddened that even though decades have passed, Hot Rod or Rodimus Prime still is hated for his act in the 1986 movie. Sure, losing Optimus Prime was traumatizing, even to me, and I hated Hot Rod for that, but then I slowly no longer saw him as the one who "killed Optimus Prime", when it was Megatron who pulled the trigger in the first place! While yes, Hot Rod could've called Megatron out or shot him from afar, but Hot Rod mostly is like a young adult who's impulsive at times, so his emotions got the better of him when he saw his mentor and leader in the brink of being attacked by surprise. Hot Rod even asked Optimus to forgive him for what he just did, giving Megatron the upper hand unintentionally and such, but Optimus showed that forgiveness in one of the ways, "Arise Rodimus Prime." The fact that we still hate Hot Rod for one mistake he did, overshadows the good he even did for the Autobot group, he beat Galvatron, saved the other Autobots alongside Spike and Daniel from Unicron, and while season 3 had it's flaws, it also showed Rodimus burdened by leadership and being doubtful of himself, The fact that we still hate him for one mistake shows that we still choose to hold onto that pain, but remember, Optimus forgave Hot Rod, and he was still a father figure to him. We're like Hot Rod at times, where we let our emotions get the better of us, where we tend to act rash or without even thinking. But that's all I could say, God bless you.

@@incognit01233 So what you're saying is HASBRO killed Optimus Prime, since they were the ones who approved of the script.

I died inside when The Veteran was revealed to be... Y'know... Being stuck with him is a fate worse than death.

It was really a beautiful story. Rodimus who in G1 continuity was a young, unsure somewhat spoiled brat of a leader becomes wise with age and carries himself as a true prime. He sacrifices his own race to save countless others, the Cybertronians corrupted by eons of unending war and depletion of their energy source destroying all in their path. It's also sad to see, that after so many years of fighting, so many races and worlds destroyed, only Rodimus can see the defect in their programming....that the only real option for their race is extinction. It was a fitting way for IDW to end their time with the Transformers franchise.

I be a little more intresting if we see the autobots fall to darkness the good autobot die the only sivivores being pure evil or just lucky enough I think bumblebee insted of rodimus would more inpacting he witnessed earth die his freand and ther home die all becuse opimus prime and rodimus prime never surander and he belive them bumblebee tired of this war a bumblebee with two 1.let them live and let every one other liveing being suffer Or 2:the lives of the many over the few killing all cybertronions but leting every one else have a chance. Bumblebee would kill every singel transfomer and when he finishes he see's the horible truth it never mattered he just every one he ever knew it was not sanificant no mater what it dosen't matter then bumblebee relizes that he has to go so he gose back to what's left of earth and mornes the humans and every other race lost becuse of the cybertrien war and hope's that no one find's this dead galixy and them never trys to to bring them back as he rasies his blaster to his spark srounded by death and dextruxen that could have never hapend they fail every one lost Opimus, rodimus and megatron failed the only winner was unicrone he won primus has been destroyed and now he can feed forever untill all are destroyed.

EXACTLY MY TOUGHTS.

I love the story and how Rodmus had to fight Many of his former Friends. I loved seeing override and landmine from Transformers Cybertron and seeing wheelie strong arm and steeljaw. It’s too bad he had to kill them all tho

I feel bad for moon. He’s pretty much viewed as a nobody by the few of there own kind that’s left. I can see why he has resentment for there ancestors. Imagine living in a universe ruined by war barley getting by only knowing survival is what matters and that your seen as a nobody by the rest of your kind that’s left.

I like how this whole ordeal could of been avoided if someone just taught cybertronians how to farm or they just looked into it themselves Like literally every other intelegent organic species does. This was written as a "hypothetical last story" for the Transformers brand as a whole, this actually wouldn't fit for Transformers: Animated because the Autobots did learn how to farm Energon.

@@aster4jaden Yes, and the Autobots were taught by humans when they were on Earth for all that time. It is the Decepticons that will never learn to farm for survival. They will keep doing what they always do. Invade and seize them, then kill the species they find when they are done.

Wow. I hate this. To be more clear, I don’t hate the execution at all. The art, writing, characters, all very well done. What I hate is the point the comic’s trying to make. That the only answer to never ending war is to give up and die. It’s so nihilistic and a pretty fucked up lesson to take away. Also the tone felt pretty dissonant. You got Rodimus spouting quips and referencing memes in the same issues he’s genociding his own people. The idea of Rodimus having to decide the fate of his species for the sake of the universe, which ultimately leads to the extinction of all Cybertronians is an interesting one definitely. But it could’ve been done in a more tact way.

@@YautjaSpacePirate The comic repeatedly says that energon was supposedly completely used up- that EVERYTHING was used up. the fact that the planet this takes place on is rich with energon is a major plot point. Stop being stupid.

One thing i never really picked up on is a large portion of Steeljaw's pack are combiner components. The four from Adventure Galvatronus, Wedge from Landfill, Scylla from God Neptune and Lunaclub from MegaEmpress.

Classics Rodimus is a good basis

The best killer Rodimus was. In tbd combiner wars story. He totally went bat shit and started killing everybody.

One giant plothole that really bugs me with this. (Aside from Rodimus deciding to just end the Cybetronian race.) If the late cybetronians figured out a way of converting biofuel for themselves. (I imagine, after the old "bleeding the meat" method that was used by decepticons before.) It should have really not taken much to adapt the method into converting plant matter directly, instead of the wasteful method of breeding animals, and even then, why keep using sapient being instead of, you know, cows or something?

This Ending give me such mixed feelings, but if I had to choose I prefer Pax Cybertronia for IDW. Mainly because i'm tired of Series ending depressingly or on a downer, I like the hopefulness and positivity Pax Cybertronia ended on.

10:08 i like how they have a mesh if different versions of transformers they have, like bulkhead form TFP is in there with G1 arce(if i spelled that right) it`s really cool that there are details that refer to different sources

I should hate this. But I am oddly drawn in and like it. IDW keeps doing a good job. EDIT: I also like to collect. Not so much for investments (Although that's not a bad thing per se.) but for stories like this; which I think was sold pretty well.

This is the idw g2 univers comics ending considering how rodimus talks it's sounds like the g2 mavel comics the auto bot not careing about life anymore but just wunting to kill decepticons and siming to take pleasher in it. decepticons wunting to kill all autobots and rule all. An idw G2 makes sence for this time line.

God Damn. I really loved this version of Rodimus. I think it will be a very good decision to Hasbro explore his failure. Try to make a story the imperfections of him and show how he's different from Optimus.

Man this story had so much potential but was so shit holy crap

I'm so sick of stories where everyone is trash. Call me old fashioned, but I need at least one main character worth rooting for. They are all, at the same time, irredeemably evil, and irredeemably stupid. More than that, I'm so sick of people being intoxicated by the worst aspects of human nature, and exalting the worst possible choices because those choices result in sexy fight scenes. No its not just fiction, people behave like this in real life. Its disgusting. Also this comic is just kinda... reference rich? Yea not a fan.

As cool as this was, Rodimus' philosophy here was nihilistic and depressing. Personally I would've prefered a more hopeful outcome, where a new generation of Transformers forgo war and live peacefully with the rest of the universe. Instead, the comic suggest that they can never changs their ways and they should wither and die for whatever is left in the universe to live a better life. It's sad when you think about it.

This would be a great Transformers mini series, kinda giving me TMNT 2012 apocalypse vibes

IDWs take on the Transformers was awesome until around the "Dark Cybertron"-storyline woke bullshit took over! Thanks to the people around Mairghread Scott, the whole story took a downward spiral and ended in a boring final! Never read the 2nd IDW continuity with exception of "Last Bot Standing". Was as terrible storywise and the artwork also was pretty bad! The new image TF comics are promising and until now do not show any signs of the woke agenda. I hope this stays this way. Just my 2 cents!

God that was crap, what a way to take a dump all over 15 years worth of comics.
