Only in IDWs world in the original the Quintessons opressed them all and then after they over threw the quintessons then the decepticons couldnt give up being soldiers this lead to 2 more wars this is explained in the 85 or 86 movie i forget when it came out

Sometimes some heroes lose their way and become the villains they fought against.

It's very weird to think that if Megatron wasn't picked up by Brainstorm, he probably would've just become a scholar like Orion, and they would've changed the world together. Megs is literally what happens when the quiet guy is thrown in prison and pushed to his limit.

I like this version of megatron. It is a cautious tail of why you don't push people too far.

That's why I loved this version. It started with justifiable reasons why he started a rebellion, until he became what he hated.

That’s Cy-Kill from GoBots in the gladiator battle! An Easter egg perhaps, as he was the Megatron equivalent!!

I agree with ya, Sentinel Prime has a really cool design here. And it’s a shame that we never got a proper toy of it (let alone third party toys of it), the closest we got is the Titans Return toy, which is a retool.

Yeah I was shocked to learn that.

I honestly cannot blame Megatron for going down the path of war. Especially when the corrupt Senate of Cybertron are to blame for putting him on that path in the first place. Megatron initially wanted to make changes to Cybertron’s society through non-violent means, which ultimately would’ve stripped the corrupt Senate of their power. Seeing that Megatron was gonna be a threat to their reign, the Senate ordered an Autobot that worked directly for them, Whirl, to kill him after he was arrested and in police custody (Megatron actually didn’t do anything, a friend of his brutalized two military cadets and he was arrested just for being associated with him). While beating his helpless prisoner, Whirl told Megatron that it didn’t matter if he died and that nobody cared about him. Whirl was caught in the act and restrained before he could finish Megatron off, as he was being set free due to an eyewitness testimony saying he was not involved in the beating his friend gave to those cadets. While Megatron wasn’t killed, the psychological damage had been done. As his sense of injustice and powerlessness made him realize that a more forceful approach was required in order to change society. So yeah, Megatron was a good person. But unfortunately the corrupt society he sought to change ended up changing him for the worst when they tried to silence him. The Senate ultimately created the instrument of their destruction.

Megatron is badass, he wouldn't let someone else tell him who he was and what he should be, feel or think. He was the revolution, that's why the bourgeoisie (=Autobots) hated him so much.

The very evil Megatron experienced is the same evil he does to others.

TFP had a similar approach but the gladitoral pits were used for entertainment also megatron was more heroic he killed thf mob bosses who owned the pits and ended the selling of dead cybertronian parts for good and he fought for his people and truly wanted to help them

12:00 - according to the official tech-Specs - Starscream could reach Mach 2.8 and Skywarp and Thundercracker roughly Mach 2 (1500 MPH / ~2400 KPH). It is likely Starscream is engaging in a bit of exaggeration here.. or possibly their Cybertronian modes were faster than their earth modes. Later seekers : Thrust Mach 2.5, Ramjet Mach 2, and Dirge (the slowest) at approximately Mach 1.8

this would make a great movie

This must be new because it's not from the 80's. I remember running home from school to watch every episode.

I don't know why they won't turn the Transformer comics into animated movies like DC & Marvel does....

5:22 IDW's hella funny for doing this. So the gladiator that Megatron fights and kills here resembles "Cy-Kill", the main villain from GoBots (Transformers toy rival).

I love these comics but I prefer the origins were the autobots are normal people. Deceptions being freedom fighters just makes Megatron worse. Because the things he does after are the awful. At least if he was born a soldier it makes sense he knows nothing but war.

Anybody else notice that the Gladiator that Matron killed looks like "Cykill" from gobots.

OG Megatron's personality was akin to a kid's cartoon bad guy, like those absurd bad guys of really old movies who swirled their mustache tips when openly expressing their evil. Megatron, over the decades, has become an awesome bad guy... a classic hero of his own story. Oh, and before you give me grief on how his "original" personality was not like I described, he started out as a toy that became a kid's cartoon... essentially the kind of cartoon back then that was a very long advertisement for the toy. His "real origins" were revisions to his canon. So, if you are one of the tools who wanted to give me grief, go back to your little online circle or comic book group that live in your little bubble, okay? Sorry for that last paragraph... I feel like I must fumigate for trolls ahead of time nowadays when memory of the past collide with modern perceptions.

Cy-Kill from Go-Bots

Great new story, very mature in nature, not since G1 1980's cartoon, as far as a story stand point be very interesting? I wish they had writers like this for the live action Transformers movies? Because the writing and this new ROTB Beast is another failed attempt to reestablished the cybertronians? A reboot like this would have been nice?

Yeah I enjoyed this story a lot. I personally wouldn’t call Rise of the Beasts a failed attempt when we haven’t seen it yet. Bumblebee was a nice fresh reboot and Rise of the Beasts looks great so far. The Director behind it did a great job on Creed 2, so I’m hopeful.

@@GoBeyondComics you fail to realize that the producers that produced all the Transformers movies are in charge, including Michael Bay, looking at this movie Trailer I see the recyclable tactics turning the main villains into trucks the CGI took a step backwards because of Michael Bay's last two attempts? Bumblebee was a well directed movie but the character development of the Transformers and the cartoonish CGI wasn't good. As well as the lazy detailing of blitzwing in Starscream colors? I well give you a example as to why I can see this movie being nothing more than I candy? You are correct in this young man being a up and coming director. But you failed to understand how the business works? Remember Robocop 2014, they had a great director, and so did Spiderman 3 the producers tell the director on how it's going be and the budget he has to work with? But Bay is still behind this movie and I can still see his influence? The CGI isn't by the same team that's why it looks bad, and they cut cost Optimus primal in beast mode looks good, but in robot mode he looks terrible. Optimus Prime's first three movies with Michael Bay CGI looked well as the last two? The writing is terrible for this movie, they continually have Peter Cullen say the same barbaric lines turning into a psychopath, even Peter Cullen has issued concerns with his character? I haven't seen the original Optimus Prime since his last battle on earth on Autobot City 1986?

I am sick of the boring Decepticons? And than Optimus Prime head and body looks terrible? The movie was supposed to come out last year, that means they had 2ears to get it right? And still they make Mirage look like jazz, in vehicle mode? And give Hounds powers? I have no words to say about how bad Wheeljack look? Transformers Franchise is not good anymore, because businessman run it like WB DC? You need fanboy's to run it?

I'm now watching your shattered glass vids, that's trippy :P I can't wait for more of this series and I love your last bot standing. Transformers in a nutshell: Decepticons: slaves to the elitist Autobots Autobots: upper crust elites. They use the decepticons as slaves to mine energon and do other jobs. Megatron: sick of being a slave starts a rebellion to free his fellow decepticons. Optimus Prime: decepticon "slave" hunter and leader of the autobots warriors and their battle to quell the rebellion. 😉👍

Optimus agreed with them and idolized Megatron before they got extremely murderous though and only started really fighting them after they betrayed OP and his people and started doing organic genocide that’s pretty disingenuous towards OP

so basically, someone decided to make the known bad guy into a good guy, and the good guys into bad guys. pretty stupid.
