This week Rode launched a new wireless microphone called the Rode Wireless Me. This is an affordable easy-to-use wireless microphone system geared to those who just want a plug-and-play microphone that sounds great without trying to figure out complicated settings. The Rode Wireless Me is not replacing the Rode Wireless Go 2 but is just a new wireless solution depending on your needs. It offers great broadcast-quality audio with easy-to-understand options for those who are new. This is a first look and first impression of this new wireless microphone. We take a look at some of the features including the new Rode Capture app. A deeper follow-up and review will be coming soon.

I have the rode ME. I left it on my sweatshirt and it went through the wash, full cycle, I put it in some rice some rice and it’s still working. Definite plus for this wireless mic.
The best video on this mic system so far! To the point and not wasting time. Thank you :)
Thank you for a simple yet comprehensive review!
Helpful overview, thanks!
Great review. Thanks a lot, Sean!
Nice video. I like how you covered options on different devices. And how to use the apps. Great work.
Perfect video man, going to order one for my dad. Thank you
Good first look video Shaun.

Thanks Shawn!
Thanks, I just looked on Amazon and was amazed at the new selections available. I suppose that no one could do a comparison of them all, but to me, the Comica Vimo C3 still has the most bang for the buck, unless there is a huge quality or distance ability.

Indeed, there is a lot on the market. It’s difficult to make an informed choice.

Connect whith pc ??
Wonderful video..everyone keeps saying you can add a third mic but I can figure how to order that third mic or where to order it.
Looks good, I really wish someone would make a wireless system so I can use a iPhone on a gimbal with a wireless lav mic set up like this. I’m surprised insta360 or DJI haven’t built a lav system into their gimbals yet.

The dji pocket does that, however it's a standalone camera. There are wireless products out there that do what you need but none from the bigger brands as far as I know.
Given the RX has a mic built into it, can you use that on its own for run and gun, or do you have to connect a TX?
Hi Sean, I am a regular UK viewer and fan of your tech videos, very informative. I have a hero 10 which I use with a Volta. Would I be able to use this microphone with that setup? Being retired it is a big outlay for me so I want to be sure. Thanks Kevin
Thanks, can you please show how to connect it to a apsc camera or suggest some other links? I own an a6600 thanks
Thank you so much for your great video.But let me ask you a query: Is it possible to connect a mixer /amplifier to a mobile /laptop which is connected to the Rode wireless mic to pass the audio through the speaks on a live program ? If so,how to do it ? Thank you so much .God bless you .
If you're using it on the iPhone can you connect a lapel mic to the receiver?
If you go live on tik tok, you have settings for mic ?
I have a question, if you are on the video phone application and record a video, is the sound taken by Rode Me?
Does it have the sd card slot?
not sure with the logo and feel its a go, with added firmware

In many ways, its a downgrade it doesn’t have as many features. They are more targeting beginners and people who wanna user-friendly device.
I’m having trouble connecting it to my iPad Air
What is the difference between the 2 3.5mm cables? The TRS to TRS and the TRRS to TRS cable.
@AirPhotography
Жыл бұрын
Basically, most cameras use a TRS cable and smart phones use TRRS cable. So like point-and-shoot, gopros DSLR’s all use TRS. The difference between the cable is basically when you look at the end has two rings. Basically stands for tip, ring, and sleeve. Where as a TRRS is simply. Tip, ring, ring, sleeve.

Maybe they need to be rebound? If not, I will contact rode for support because I’m not sure why that would be.
How does this compare to the Rode Wireless Go & DJI Mic?

I am working on a comparison right now. Going over the price differences versus features and specs versus sound quality. I hope to have that ready next week
it is possible to add an extra microphone if needed it?

Yes, it will support a third transmitter
Are the two audios mixed to one channel or are the two mics into separate channels?

You have the option to SPLIT or MERGE?
Does it have internal recording?
@huntrrams

No
When I see you hook up the RX to the DJI RC controller and it is supposed to work that way. It doesn't do jack! The only way it works even swapping both and running USB-C to USB-C is to turn both on and one is the receiver and one is the microphone. This is crap useless if it only works with the iPhone using only 1.
Can I set this up on a gopro 7 ?
@AirPhotography

Yes you can. You will need the microphone adapter.

How do you charge it
@AirPhotography

There is a USB-C port components, and that’s how they recharge. Cables are included, but not a power brick.
Does it connect with any Insta360 cameras?

Oh, oh, yes, you can't compare the sound quality with your "studio microphone". They are not there yet, by a long shot. But it is moving forward. Then compared to Dji, I don't know how Rode stands up.
Curious how this compares to the DJI mic

Phillip Bloom review, a film maker. He likes the dji idea and format but pointed out, to dji's chagrin, that it is not yet recording at full hertz.
Oooofff! $150? I can buy a really nice lavalier plus a cable extension for $35, tops. Is this really 5x better, or worth 5x the cost? Yes, wireless is quite convenient and you can't get hung up in the wifi (😄) But 5x the cost. That's a hard ask. Of course, if my mic budget tops out around $50, I'm pretty sure I'm not R0de's core demographic. Cost aside, it does sound like a pretty functional and thoughtfully designed product.

You’re right in some scenarios that Lavalier is more than adequate. However, in some scenarios wireless is a must.
