My heart used to break watching Roddy in interviews still shaken and upset over Adrian's untimely death. And rightly so because they were best friends. Poor guy never got over the loss of his "brother ". I hope they are together now...

You can feel the heartache. Wrestlers develop special bonds with one another; they're on the road so much that their only family is other wrestlers. Many wrestlers come from tough family backgrounds (see Jake Roberts' difficult relationship with his father). It's a brotherhood that is unlike any other in sports or the entertainment business.

RIP Roddy. Roddy really appreciated those that helped him and seemed to really care for those he considered friends, through thick and thin. That is a very rare trait.

Piper was so right here. The pops for that match were big time. In addition to Piper's huge pop, Adonis got MASSIVE heat. A similarly big reaction went out to the Junkyard Dog that day. Awesome event to watch to this day. Probably the best.

With hopes of rejoining WWF and having lost weight, Adrian worked for Dave McKigney in Newfoundland and wrestled against Hartford Love. On July 4, 1988, in Lewisporte, Newfoundland, Adrian was in a minivan with fellow wrestlers, and twins William "Mike Kelly" Arko, Victor "Pat Kelly" Arko, and Dave McKigney. Adrian, McKigney, and Victor Arko were killed when Victor Arko, allegedly blinded by the setting sun, swerved to avoid hitting a moose causing the van to fall from a bridge into a creek below. Adrian suffered severe head injuries and died a few hours later. William Arko was the sole survivor and sustained severe leg injuries.

Prior to the whole 'crossdressing', he was a damn good wrestler, particularly in tag team (i wanna say with ventura, etc)
