    Beck and Page were childhood friends. Page inducted Beck in the Hall of Fame. Page and Jones played on Beck's Bolero... With Keith Moon!

    They made the 2 albums and Rod joined the Small Faces with Ron Wood which ended up as the Faces. Beck teamed up with Bogert and Appice but had a car accident which side lined him for 18 months

    Beck and page had already played in the yardbirds together, and had been friends since they were young teenagers. So of course there was some cross influencing going on.

    I love The Jeff Beck Group, and they were an undeniable influence on Zeppelin. I know Beck for sure was irritated that they did "You Shook Me". I just have a feeling they might have been pissed upon hearing about it, but after actually hearing it, thought: "Oh...Maybe it would be better if we just didn't say anything"...

    It's all British blues, which came from American blues anyway. And the roots version was getting little recognition here at home. These bands all intermingled with one another. Musicians exchanged rifts and techniques and covered the same songs.

    Rod, in his blues avatar was as good as any other singer but his voice was always his distinctive asset. I love Ledzep but Rod was extraordinary with Beck. He reinvented himself and had a better career than his contemporaries in the 80s with absolutely new generation of fans.

    Actually, when you listen to those first two JBG albums, Truth and Beck-Ola, they have a similar format, but are very different to Zep I &II, both bands were on a different mission. Beck quickly moved away from the kind of rock Theater that Page crafted. Apples and Oranges to me.

    They most definitely “borrowed” from a lot of folks. Notably Steve Marriott. But, there are very few true originals among rock bands. They all owe a debt to the blues artists they borrowed from. Including Jeff and Rod and you name it.

    The only difference between Beck Group and Zeppelin’s first couple of albums is that Beck and Co. actually gave credit to all the songwriters of the songs they covered.

    That might be the dumbest question, Howard has ever asked, who's better? Jeff Beck is considered by many as the greatest guitarist to ever walk the earth, Ron wood, isn't even in the same zip code, the late, great Mr. Beck, could probably play a better solo with his toes.

    Ron Wood is more rhythmic and more of a writer and singer - more rounded but Beck is more of a prodigal guitar player - Ron Wood can really play though too - he does a good job in the Stones but he had more space to really shine in the Faces - that's where he really shines

    Page had nothing to do with producing "Truth", and "Beck's Bolero" had been recorded two years previously when Beck was still in the Yardbirds.

    OMG - if the Jeff Beck Group could have ever sounded as good as Zeppelin they would have been as big as Zeppelin. Just being a great guitarist doesn't mean you make great original or cover songs. And Zeppelin had a rhythm section rivaled by no other band. A lot of people don't realize how much John Paul Jones added to the total sound.

    Page actually helped create their sound. It was Page that wrote, recorded and produced Beck's Bolero that was on Truth. I always thought that it was that group's best song.

    ​@@faithnomore7959yes, the greatest if you only listen to sounds from 70's and above. Compare zeppelin to the 60's sounds and they would be way below that list of the greatest. 70's sound was noisy as hell with repetitive riffs and screechy voices.

    Compare Led Zeppelin’s version of You Shook Me, to Jeff Beck’s. I think Zep were only too happy to have their songs contrasted and compared with other bands/artists

    That’s Bull Page recorded zBeck And Clapton , he worked with Beck in the yardbirds , they all knew each others stuff , that’s the same crap they said about Zeppelin was cream . That’s why Becks group lasted a year or two cream 3 maybe. How did Zeppelin make it for 12 years without Beck and cream to steel from . Plant and Page copied everyone. Sad .

    every band singer has an inspiration but not necesary to copy but when you copy you mean to rewrite all song and harmony can you copy the oroginal voice of robert plant is the lyric the same if jimmy page hit some same notes its not neccerarily a copy because guitar playing almost entirely same sound because almost almost all bamd used same sme instrument and use abcd eg chords

    @@sid7088- Page was a better writer (Ten Years Gone, Achilles... etc) whereas Jeff Beck was far superior instrumentally. They're some of the best of their generation, along with Roy Buchanan, Peter Green, Hendrix... etc.
