And I said i sometimes post links to other videos in case you haven’t seen them so I’m glad you saw this one. I really don’t get why they didn’t feel comfortable expressing it before, but glad they can now. Who gives a fuck about what other people think? It shouldn’t have bothered Scott that much. If they never had feelings for each other, who cares? It’s sad to me that they needed to be romantically involved with other people to express their love for one another.

I apologize to Tessa and Scott, but after watching this conversation with Mr. Rod is indisputable the feeling they feel for each other, even though they both have relationships with other people, they love each other. You can even fight that feeling but that's the reality. I believe that there may be a lot of resentment in your relationship but the truth is that you love each other (I think for the rest of your lives, because what you created was planted very early on having taken root) and that is difficult to "take root". You both need each other to be yourself. It's so hard to hide what your heart feels and sometimes it's a losing battle to fight your heart. Be happy that's the goal of life.

He has a wife now very resentful of that my friend! She was married before then divorced him and started going after Scott ,her excuse she was his early baby girl dancing partner before Tessa replaced her.Told Scott he was such a superior skater he could make any girl look good and she could've done anything that Tessa did?Was this experienced no longer virgin giving him relief from frustrations he was feeling? So he got engaged to her whatever probably just announced it without the ring I bet.So there she was precariously engaged to Scott what inspired her passion when? After he became a world renowned Olympic Champion thanks to his partnership with Tessa Virtue?Who was not really willing to change their lovely partnership by becoming romantic or seducing him anyway? It the engagement probably needed cementing so the fiance became pregnant! But Scott did not marry her for two years after the birth Ye God's it's enough to make one lose faith in human nature! Is it not?

Tessa and Scott are two of my favorite skaters ever, and I always love to hear them speak about each other, their career and their future goals. I perfectly understand that, after retirement, they needed to figure out who they were on their own, and what they wanted to do with their lives after competitive skating, but omg how I miss seeing them skate together. I can't wait to see them skate together again, I'm sure that the magic they've always created on the ice is still there. In the meantime, I wish them all the happiness, health and success in the world 💙

This was special. Thank you from Italy! 🇮🇹 Time flies but I still see two souls deeply in Love with each other. Love with the capital L: the one from the heart, the one that can be felt, the one that's always there. Even when life takes over in many different ways and we don't get the real chance to give voice to our heart. Even if we'd want to. The awkwardness about the 'unasked question' gave them away and it was bittersweet for me. Those who read Paulo Coelho's The Alchemist know how Tessa and Scott's hearts were talking to each other in that very moment. "So, yeah, we're doing all these amazing new things in our lives. And it is great. It truly is. But what's the purpose if we can't tell each other everything about it when we get back home?". And in the words of the great Coelho: "Remember that wherever your heart is, there you will find your treasure". Maktub, dear Tessa and Scott. It is written.

Mr Rod could well encourage film companies to invite themselves, Scott and Tessa to make the film of their lives, but with two endings, one to separate and suffer with this separation and another end to be together and be happy for always, even in cinematographic style. After seeing several of Scott and Tessa's figure skating exhibitions, I was able to conclude the following: Scott and Tessa made an excellent dancing pair, starting with the beautiful physical silhouette of each of them, then with the unparalleled way they performed on the dance ice floor , characterised by the enormous flexibility of both, by Scott's masculine sensuality, which sometimes assumed immense "grit" and sometimes had the attitude of "a very flirtatious man", depending on the music they danced, and by Tessa’s femininity corresponding to the different emotional attitudes by Scott. Furthermore, Scott's physical silhouette was characterized by its immense elegance, and having the necessary muscular strength to perform all the acrobatics inherent to the choreography, he did not have an overly muscular physique. Her figure was perfect to be Tessa's partner. And , finally, if Tessa was an excellent skater, but so was Scott, and he was not far behind her. And , above all, Scott knew how to lead his dance partner, Tessa, wonderfully, and he had a lot of affection and respect for Tessa. Scott and Tessa made a wonderful and unique Figure Skating pair , which they transformed into the True Art of Dancing on Ice Skates. I have already seen a pair of Figure Skaters, who won medals this year, in 2024, but the performance I saw does not have the level of performance that we saw in Scott and Tessa, because they have a bit of lack of flexibility of the movements in their bodies, and less harmony of the pair in the experience of music and in the way they express their feelings during their choreography.

I followed figure skating since I was a little girl, and saw it broadcast on TV - we’re talking the 1960s and the Protopopovs. And yes, there’ve always been judging issues. But what’s driven me and people I know away has been the way jumping (and in ice dancing, to a somewhat lesser extent, with its spectacular lifts, although it has at least maintained the need to keep those beautiful) has overtaken artistry in the individual events. For me, this has killed my enthusiasm. And it started when Tara Lipinski beat Michelle Kwan for Olympic Gold. That was a crime, imho. And slowly, jumping has overtaken the sport to the point where many great artists cannot medal anymore. At the very least, there should be an individual ice dancing category, so skaters like Kwan and the great Jason Brown can be justly rewarded for what they bring. Multiple quad jumps are BORING. Sure, the jumps are important and we love them. But when they detract from the skill required to do amazing artistry as well, then the sport has sacrificed its soul on the altar of points and bonus points. I used to know all the names of the current skaters, watched them on TV as much as I could, discussed them with other skating fans. Now, none of us is so into it anymore. I think restoring school figures as part of a technical aspect, and scoring great flow and artistry on some reasonable par w jumping ability would go a long way to restoring our enthusiasm. Honestly, my interest in ice dancing doesn’t carry enough weight to get me tuning in unless I’m also watching figure skating. I went through the early years of ice dancing, was lucky enough to watch Torvill & Dean change everything w their Olympic Bolero performance in ‘84, then Scott & Tessa… I know there are other great teams developing, and one day another great pair may emerge (Scott may be coaching them right now). But the figure skating world needs to walk back its obsession with points before I’ll get back to it. PS I’m in the US, and here, the broadcasters keep up such a steady stream of chatter that it detracts too much from viewing. And the points system has made it worse. I long for the days of Dick Button and Peggy Fleming, who knew how to comment but left space for viewers to just watch. That would help a lot. Maybe it’s different in other countries, but the little inset screen that counts points in the performances makes it even worse. We don’t watch skating just for daring jumps and lifts; those should be crescendo points in an overall skillful and *beautiful* performance. Shout-out to Kurt Browning and Robin Cousins, who also epitomized that kind of skating. We just won’t see his like again unless the system changes. Ask yourself this question: if ice dancing didn’t require the almost superhuman lifts, would Tessa & Scott have had to retire when they did? I wonder.

Agree wholeheartedly. For me I’ve only been interested in Ice Dancing. Not a fan of pairs or individual skaters. It always seems like they’re just skating around waiting for the next time to jump. I find that extremely boring. I get into the story the skaters are trying to tell with Ice Dancing.. It’s hardly on tv anymore here in the states. I have to search for it and when I find it, it’s days later after the event. It’s frustrating. Rod..when the next “Tessa and Scott” emerges I think people will tune in more. Good luck with that tho..I’ve never seen a couple like them and I’ve been searching for one. That connection…hard to find that. Wishing them both the best. I miss seeing them on ice. They are definitely the #GOATS

I am so glad that I'm not the only one who feels that the athletics of the sport is winning out over the artistry. I don't like watching certain teams because of that. Tessa and Scott had a beautiful story to tell. Even their Carmen was beautiful, and it had some craggy parts.@@shelleyquitter3484

I hated listening to Dick Button. I hated his criticisms when an athlete made a mistake. Would much rather listen to Scott Hamilton, or Kurt browning who while acknowledging there was an error focused more on their good programs

What an interesting , and even fun , interview with Scott Moir and Tessa Virtue, which was conducted by an admirable interviewer, who , how we can see he really appreciates , and has true admiration, and even some affection , for these 2 magnificent Figure Skating Athletes who are Scott and Tessa. Scott seems to be a person full of personality, very honest, who never wants to deny the beautiful experience he had in his long years of skating with Tessa. Strangely , right at the beginning of this interview it seemed like Tessa wanted to devalue the good skating moments she had with Scott . It seems that Tessa wants to turn this page in her life, and start a new chapter. However, the past of good experiences should never be forgotten, especially remembering the delicacy with which Scott seemed to have always had with Tessa. However, it seems that, Scott and Tessa ended up pursuing different career paths, and it have to be accepted, after all it’s a problem to be decided by each one of them individually , according to their willing , tastes , and vocational skills and goals, with the hope that each of them can feel happy in the professions they decided to embrace. It is worth remembering the quote, "The path is made by walking", without anxiety and very calmly so that the health of each one of us is never affected. And, in that sense, my sincere hope that Scott feels very happy in his coaching activity, and that he can be blessed with a stroke of luck, so that he can form a new Olympic Figure Skating Pair. As a spectator , and great admirer of Figure Skating , I say that it was a pleasure to see how Scott and Tessa performed in their exhibitions, due to the enormous flexibility and elegance of their movements, the synchronization they had between the music and all the steps of their performance, and the connection and complicity that they expressed to have with each other. When they skated, it was clear that Scott and Tessa had the Dance in their Souls. I heard someone make the following comment , full of truth, about Scott and Tessa's displays, and I quote "This can't be taught. It simply exists." But, I also believe that, if Tessa has muscle problems, it is perfectly natural that she would have wanted to pursue a different activity, and therefore, I hope that Scott can find another skating partner worthy of the great professional that he is . A situation that never seems to fully affect Tessa as a person, because it can be seen that Scott continues to feel that his partnership with Tessa will be simply irreplaceable. Who doesn't know cases of excellent understanding between 2 teenagers, and even between 2 university students, who despite having felt immense physical and emotional attraction for each other, but , who , ended up marrying other partners, and , who , nevertheless never take away their memories the good feelings they felt for each other, and that, even when they meet later in social events does this attraction remain, although rationally each person understands that the relationship with their partners should not be changed? Best wishes for a healthy, happy and long Life for Scott e Tessa .

Even living separate lives and following different paths, the feeling they have for each other is notorious. What made them last so long in the sport was their love for each other, you completed each other off the ice and fulfilled on the ice. You needed to get away without committing to someone and then find each other. Even if something very terrible had happened, with time and the feeling you have for each other, you would find the peace of living together for the rest of your lives.

Luv this interviewer: he wants them together as much as we do..nvr recall either of them braggin bout how much they luvd each other...maybe its me but I'm seeing something havent seen in any interviews. Imo I haven't even watched skating at all, skaters look so robotic. Did anyone notice the wedding ring on scott??? To me it was like he was making it known, and I don't think he'd do that to tessa...cares to much to hurt her like that...take that for what its worth....

@Cindy Porter I have a different take on the wedding band's guest appearance 😊. Based on the multiple Kiss and Cry moments we've seen of Tessa and Scott during their 2017-2018 comeback seasons, I noticed it wasn't unusual to see him touching his face and hair, and/or rubbing his palms together post-skate while Tessa usually kept her hands more composed near her lap. Looks like these are just two of Scott's unique tics and mannerisms. It seems that unless he has something to occupy his hands during this type of interview setting, they're going to end up around his face at some point. That's why the wedding band showed up.

Tessa got engaged to Morgan Reilly, a star defenseman for the Toronto Maple Leafs, this past fall. They’ve been dating since before the pandemic.
