  • @jackwilloughby239
    @jackwilloughby2392 жыл бұрын

    Well, to be honest, this is over my head. I can't recognize a melody or the chord progression, and I was in the same position when I first started listening to Charlie Parker. It took me about a year till I could figure out Bird, but there was always something that kept bringing me back to the music. I have other things to listen to now, and I don't believe this music will pan out as far as my being able to play it at any point. I think it's good that these people are pushing the boundary, but it's more than my ears can handle.

  • @jackwilloughby239

    @jackwilloughby239

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@bobthabuilda1525 It probably doesn't until you try to play it. Bela Fleck has a lot of natural talent , but he seems to be all over the place as far as his compositions. If you study music you'll find that there is an inner logic to most if not all of the really great compositions. Bela is really just relying on a well developed sense of intuition, but his incessant need to do something new doesn't work for most of his pieces. They end up sounding like a patch-work quilt. It's totally a reflection of the world today and so most just accept it, if it sounds good. Yeah, it sounds good, but after awhile some people want a little depth, David Grisman sounds good, but his music lacked the this depth and it also lacked something that is even more important and that is Simplicity. That is what made Guys like Mozart stand out as Truly Great. They knew how to make something simple sound New.
