This concert at the paramount was a major treat! My first live show in 2 years, and a meandering salvo of songs with top legends. As a bassist I hold a lighter to Edgar Meyer's bass soul, and Bela is the reason I opened my eyes to bluegrass and folk 20 years ago. The guys were all really, unexpectedly funny in between songs and it was very competitive, who was having the better party, crowd or performers.

Bela is now bringing his "Flecktones" sound/music to Bluegrass. Only top musicians may apply; it really shows how VERY, VERY good these guys are. These are complex melodies, tempos, etc. Great to see Sammy and Jerry keeping up and then some.

Dream team of Bluegrass pickers. No debate here.

I grew up around Appalachian bluegrass and books on European folklore. This feels like a perfect fusion of the two for me.

I love the huge Bluegrass Heart Band roster. What a great concept…endless variations and possibilities.

You have impressed me not only as a good banjo player, but as a "classical" composer. Your concertos are impressive. It's like you have taken every important turn of the 19th to 20th century composers' styles to heart, and created your own style. I would love to see the scores. I studied music composition, and have written some music I consider ok, but you sir are a master. You are not perfect; some passages in your banjo concertos sound like decent film music, but some sound like something even Brahms could have liked, and the banjo solos are amazing, making it into a truly classical instrument.

Thank you. Great to see this. I recommend video editing that matches the count of the music. At least eight beats before changing an idea. Less zoom in/zoom out. More what it feels like to be in the space, on stage, and letting the tune take the lead. If camera angles can capture the musician’s body and the rhythm expressed by it, bow holds, posture, communication among band members- all the better. I can’t wait to see more.

Yes! Cinematography is one of those arts that often goes unnoticed and unappreciated. Such a subtle thing that can have a dramatic effect.

I went to see Bela in Glasgow with his classical stuff, it was unlistenable orchestral twiddling, horrible, I wish he would stick to this kinda stuff
