This is an awesome lake. I have only be able to go there a couple times but loved the views. I'm hoping to get more ice fishing gear this year so I can hit this spot more this coming winter.

you should give Ikura a shot with the roe, marinate with soy sauce, mirin and serve over rice. It's delicious! I did it with pink salmon roe last season and it turned out great.

I love those Pautzkes for wild Cutties, but even our stockers seem to like them.

Those pautzki egg's. Can get you The fish, I use a size 10 or 12 egg hooks And three to four egg's on it'. Fish with them right on the bottom. If they are not biting use a half little garlic marshmallow. Can't go wrong.

You can buy ned rigs with an EWG hook, perfect for weedy areas.

Out of all my yrs I noticed when your blades go slack or stop for no reason it's the fish swirling at the spinner or I seen then hit straight on and let go. No pull, thump, bump just blade stops then starts. Using braid you can feel grass, rocks or bites. I just started setting the hook when it happened its how I noticed it was from fish not the spinner messing up. Well yes those can mess up too much not mid retrieve.

If you let your sit over night, it will not curle up, and it has a different texture.. Not that they taste bad, but you can tell the difference...

Have you tried the yellow corn powerbait? I've always had lucky with that bait. My go to use to be the rainbow powerbait but once I discovered the yellow corn powerbait I have never looked back to any other powerbait. Give it a try

I've never liked roe but my family eats hickory shad roe. You definitely overcooked it. My people will scramble them in with eggs. Soft scrambled about 5mins on medium-high.

You should have kept them eggs and use them for bait

Cooked fish eggs wrong... We love to eat the eggs. Easy way is to boil them than salt. Do not over boil then then they're gummy.

You cooked the roe wrong.

Wrap your loose line around your Pole a few times and your rod's won't get tangled together lol also that sinker was no 3 oz

1 oz weight for trout in still water? 🤨 Thats 3 times too heavy! Its sounds like your line is too heavy & old going thru the guides also. Maybe thats why I always out fish everyone with my fresh 6-8lb line & 1/4oz bullet weight. You are also casting wayyy too far out. Most Trout stay close to shore & get hooked within 20-40 ft out in under 10ft of water.
