The Mi-24A just gives me visions of Red Dawn, even though those weren't real Mi-24s in the movie. When helicopters were first added, I saw that cockpit and immediately recognized it.

MI-24 Hind is a real world tanker's worst nightmare.

I remember playing COD Black Ops and reaching the Hind level and being so confused on why it looked so weird cause I was used to seeing the later canopy styles and had the same reaction when seeing the thumbnail XD

Start with Mi-24A .. it is 8.7 which is easier than V at 9.7, there are no much early SPAA at 8.7 and also there are a lot of light vehicles like Bradley and Marder which are great targets for S-5 rockets, also no need to unlock any modifications for Mi-24A .. it has 128 rockets with CCIP since stock .. use it at first spawn, fly fast, low, in the flank and rain any scouted target or a cap zone with long range barrage at the first minute of the battle while you still have the element of surprise, pull off and return to helipad after that .. don't get closer than 2km from your targets .. also decrease COLL to 50% moments before pushing the rockets button to slow down a little bit, gain time to aim, ability to maneuver\dodge MG tracers and prevent the helicopter from going high. Practicing on that in test fly helps a lot as well. Good Luck 👍

This kind of style of heli rocket barrage is just so cool and I love playing this way ever since I got the mi24a

Just saw this vid, gave me some good ideas. Start out with the normal rockets, then transition into those rockets + guided rockets, start off 3-4km away outside of AA range with guided then move in for the kill with the unguided rockets.

Do those rockets bahave ballistically at longer ranges ? I wonder if that range extension method where they pitch up and just shower the landscape with falling rockets would work. You basically turn into airborne artillery.

Unfortunately all rockets in WT explode in air after 4-6km (depends on the rocket type), Gaijin did that maybe for balance or also for game performance.

I did once an AH-1F video, the boring thing about U.S choppers is all of them use one type of unguided rockets which is Hydra, while Russians use S5, S8, S24 and S13 and even bombs lol. Thanks 🙂

If the AH-1F got rocket CCIP (which I think it does) you can definitely do this tactic. Technically you can do the same tactics with helis that got rockets and no CCIP but it’s much harder.

The aim is nice but S-1 is not really a good rocket, sometimes a direct impact gives you a "hit", specially on UK and Israeli tanks, they are survivable machines.

It is because I adjust the Y Axis camera to keep the rockets sight in the middle for long range barrages .. there is a button for that in controls.

For some reason capping it at 144 will cause stuttering, also I have been told that generally it is recommended to cap fps 5 or 6 less than monitor refresh rate, for more stability.

Well your battle at the helipad of the port showed how useless their AAs could be :< I've been killed by spawn campers, floating in the middle of the pad while AAs deal no damage to them. Why do they ruin the AAs function at helipad like that :
