TOPICS TACKLED:
00:02:08 Greetings!
Branding Iron (sorta works)
00:01:21 Modeling a brand, inverting it, boole-ing it out. A bit a texturing. This one is plagued with a lot of little issues with modeling and inverting.

Using the New Cloth to Fake a Liquid
01:15:48 An old idea but with the new Cloth. Capsules help out a bunch with the subdivisions.

Ripples in Water (Stylized & Cartoony. Good one!)
01:34:22 Making water ripples. Works really well out of the gate. Lots of Fields with Vertex Weight Maps. Tons of control!

1:38:36 I just switched the formula to overlay also, it stopped the flassing on the edges. Is there any advantage (maybe faster viewport or sg. like that) of your method? Thanks, I really loved this one, used a lot in other setups as well !

You don't need your geometry to be editable in order to use a vertex map on it? Or am I misunderstanding something? Just today I made something using a vertex map on a parametric object with no problem :)

The ripple thing only works on a plane with even and squared polygon distribution. Try it on a disc, or the face of a cylinder that you've patched using the close hole tool and it doesn't work. Kinda sucks because generally that's the shape you'd want it on isn't a perfect square.

Just thinking here, but I wonder if running the mesh through remesher would work since it does a pretty nice job at creating even quad topology.

It's not the shape the problem but the topology. Just remesh it and it works fine
