  • @vandaleyez2

i'm on r25 and things aren't working the same way as in the tutorial when placing the vertex map into the plain effector's field. all the grass just scales back up. things sort of work if i place the cone field instead. the invert modifier also works but i can't use the vertex map anymore since i only dragged the cone field into the plain effector. is there something i need to do differently? i tried placing the invert mod and cone field into a folder within the plain effector, which then allowed me to use the freeze modifier but it doesn't work the same. it also starts bugging out like crazy when i select auto update...

Hi Chris i learned a lot from this tutorial and as a practice i was trying to achieve this grow effect with balls shooting from above to the soil. I made a sphere parenting a spherical field and put it in the cloner with a rigid body and used an emitter as a Object of the Cloner. However when i run the animation clones of the original object did not painted the vertex as i expected it only considers the reference object so my clones did not triggered the grows on the surface. Can you give me any advice on that? Thank you!!!

Hi Chris. I'm returning to C4D from Houdini after more than a decade break and I'm a little lost in transferring my knowledge from Houdini back into C4D. It it possible [I'm sure it must be] to paint a vertex map on geo. For example, painting a vertex map on a landscape object in order to then tell the RS Matrix where specifically to scatter trees, etc? So that I can art direct? Sorry, I know this is not directly related to this really cool video! Thanks.

Hi! I know this is an old video, but is there a way to invert in the middle of the animation? So lets say I grow the grass, and then the next time I shine the light on something, I want it to shrink. I've been trying to get that to work but no such luck. Thanks if you get around to reading this!
