Rockaway Point Mardi Gras 1938

Every Labor Day, the residents of Rockaway Point NY (Queens) would gather for an annual Mardi Gras. There was a parade, and I'm sure, other festivities.
This is the 1938 Rockaway Point Mardi Gras Parade.
My Grandfather, Joseph DeMeo, operated the Colony Theater on Rockaway Point during the Summers, from the late 1920s until the time of his death in the early 1970s. He also shot this film, and presumably, other years as well.
I spent many a Summer evening up in the projection booth with Eddie Quinn, his projectionist for most of those years.
I'm assuming he shot it in 35mm so that it could be run at the theater, and as can be seen during the titles, residents could have copies made in 8mm or 16mm for home use.

Great surprise to see this movie. Just came across it and found that my brothers (aka Lone Ranger and Tonto) ages 4 and 3 years old, along with my uncle (pulling wagon) and mother are in it in it (at about 7:00 and about 14:31 in the video). Thanks for sharing.
