I was and still am a symphonic death metal and deathcore fan with a slice of prog (I love gojira and dream theater), but metalcore is just pure dopamine. The lyrics, growls and cleans are just manufactured to make you feel that rush. I ended up having a As I lay Dying phase when they released shaped by fire, and that lasted for like 5months.
