Everyone if you watch the video you’ll see I said this actually came out before tool. You don’t have to tell me!
To me, Badmotorfinger is THE quintessential Soundgarden album. You won't be disappointed with anything you listen to.

Exactly! Around the time of Badmotorfinger, I saw Soundgarden in an old Art Deco venue. It was crazy fun. Then a few years later, I saw Tool in the same place. Tool was chasing Soundgarden's mojo.

You seriously need to do a personal deep dive on the Soundgarden catalog
R.I.P to the legendary Chris Cornell 🙌
Soundgarden are level 100 Rock Gods. Sooo many more songs for you to listen to if you haven't heard them before. Saw them live in Seattle - totally rocked.

Saw their last Washington show at The Gorge! Best concert moment of my life! At least so far😁
Soundgarden was not only way ahead of the game. They laid a brand new foundation for future bands, like Tool, as you mentioned. Chris remains unmatched.
One of the greatest bands of their era.

Of ANY era.....
This is the first Soundgarden piece I have ever heard 1991 after a dance night in a club, switched MTV on, saw these Led Zeppelin Houses of the Holy colours and heard this song. Soundgarden became immediately one of my bands for a lifetime
Duuuuuuude. They are Rock Gods. Chris Cornell..May he RIP...is on another level. Listen to their earliest stuff. Unreal. Screaming Life Fopp is amazing.
Yeah, Soundgarden were known for using weird tunings, odd time signatures, and sudden tempo changes. That's what makes them them.
I can see what you mean by a slight Tool sound, however this came out before their first album. I would not doubt if they took inspiration. This album was pretty groundbreaking.
Yeah, everyone’s heard “Black Hole Sun”, it’s basically their “Smells Like Teen Spirit”. Most bands probably have that kind of song. But this is early and much harder and intense Soundgarden. On this album Chris was a roiling ball of vocal rage. All of their tracks just hit real hard.
i dont know one singer, who can sing this song.Chris Cornell is unique
Beyond the wheel live in Germany 1990 is a mustttt

HELL YEAH!!!! INCREDIBLE!
The song and video that got me into Soundgarden back in '91. Badmotorfinger is their best album.
Fuck yeah! You need to listen to more Soundgarden, they are a box full of curiosities.
You should react to loud love, beyond the wheel live or slaves and bulldozers
This video was my first introduction to Soundgarden way back in the day. I was stationed in the UK from 90-92 and saw it on their MTV.
Great reaction!! This was my introduction to 'grunge' and I was ALL IN for it!! Chris' vocals, that driving bassline, insane drumming & the screaming guitars - yup, this was perfection for the 13 year old me! Didn't hurt that the music video was FIRE! This whole album is incredible - Searching With My Good Eye Closed is my #1 from it! HIGHLY recommend checking more Soundgarden! Tool would follow - and yes, there are similarities! Cheers.
One of the best live bands i'ver seen...and they were the band that introduced me to grunge, despite Nirvana's success.
Many of the 90s bands took inspiration from Soundgarden, they were leading the way for real.
Chris Cornell is one of the greatest singers ever to come. I just wish he had stayed with us longer.
Listen to Head Down by Soundgarden very psychedelic very Pink Floyd feel
Welcome to the party pal
The most famous bands of the Seattle Scene/Era: Soundgarden: Beyond The Wheel (Live in Germany); Room A Thousand Years Wide; Fresh Tendrils; Alice In Chains: Love, Hate, Love; Them Bones; Pearl Jam: Porch (Live at Pinkpop) *TAD* Every sojourn beyond the Big 3 should start with TAD. The most creative band, always blending melody with the heaviest of riffs. Green River (Pearl Jam/Mudhoney) Before Pearl Jam and Mudhoney, there was Green River. Inspired by the CCR song, they took it a step further. Lead singer Mark Arm was heavily inspired by Iggy Pop, and invented the term Grunge. Melvins: Houdini; A Senile Animal Heavy to the point of heaving 2 drummers. Love Battery: Between The Eyes; Dayglo; The most psychedelic of grunge era bands. Gravel: Break-A-Bone; No Stone Unturned Hardcore, bare bones grunge. My Sisters Machine: Diva; Wallflower A band created by an ex-member of Alice In Chains. The cover of Diva is a bit of a revenge taken, depicting Layne Staley's girlfriend Demri. Truly: Fast Stories... From Kid Coma; Heart and Lungs Malfunkshun: Return To Olympus (1995) The inimitable Andrew Wood, his brother Kevin, and Regan Hagar. Temple Of The Dog: Temple Of The Dog A supergroup of various Seattle bands and artists. A tribute to Andrew Wood. Motherlovebone: Bite The Apple Another supergroup of Malfunksun/Pearl Jam.
Tool and many other bands were influenced by Soundgarden.
Love it. Full ‘nails on chalkboard’ sonic assault.
I had the opportunity to see Soundgarden live and I passed it up and it is one thing I've always regretted. I did get to see the impromptu Temple of the Dog reunion at Pearl Jam's 20th Anniversary concert when Chris Cornell came out and did 3 Temple of the Dog songs with all of the original members (along with Stardog Champion by Mother Love Bone). RIP Chris Cornell
Thank you for seeing all the insight in this song. You are on to something...
Great reaction! Love that you looked up the meaning of this song afterwards.
You have to check our Slaves and Bulldozers, Rust Cage, or Beyond the Wheel to truly appreciate Soundgarden
😭😭😭CHRISTOPHER 😫🥹😢
Dude! You are talented as fck! You will go far! New sub here from Canada, cheers man, keep going!
When you said you've only heard Black Hole Sun, I was pretty excited to see your reaction. haha. Soundgarden has so much variety in their catalog. On another note, you look like you could be related to my friend Nikos Kilcher. You should google his name.
Listen to more Soundgarden brother, you dig on Jesus Christ Pose I promise you're gonna love this band
Like Suicide is an epic and underrated song by Soundgarden, if you're keen on hearing more Soundgarden.😊 I first heard this song on a movie called S.F.W. Hearing the music you like, I reckon you'll really enjoy it!! Massive shout out to whoever recommended this song, it's not the normal request but I love this song, I've been a Soundgarden fan for 30+ years.
Reminds you of tool but in my book Tool reminds me of Soundgarden's heaviest stuff

Also, you mentioned the guitar and as much as I love Chris and his voice, I've always felt Kim Thayil deserves so much credit for the band's sound
This song was my introduction to Soundgarden, Radio With Pictures, Sunday night in New Zealand 1991. Still listening.
The meaning behind the song is like this. Ever see those bullies in high school with their arms out and all aggressive? They step up all "Yo, wassup! We gonna go bro?" Because they're all judgey and opinionated and they think everyone needs to think like them. This song's kind of like that. Though not probably teenage bullies, but people that like to step up and force their opinions on people. Like they think they're Jesus Christ or something and everyone should bow down and listen to them.
Turn our volume way up.
Quickly, listen to a few Soundgarden albums Uninterrupted. You'll thank them, Do it
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Yeah its a cool guitar, Kim Thayil is way underrated, also Drums Bass, Vox are great on this great album. So many good times had.
Shortly after the release, I think the fools over at MTV banned this video.

Yes they did. The evangelicals were offended. Dumb idiots They thought Soundgarden was making fun Christ.
I've watched it lots.. AIC, Soundgarden my fav bands...no... tool sounds like them 🙃
Ya Chris wanted to go pop so Tool took over After singing this I’d probably have to sing Sinead O’Connor tunes too 😅
Matt Cameron on drums 🥁 is Nearly as Good as me 💪😘
They were before Tool 😁 Tool sounds like them.
I admired Chris Cornell's singing especially his song on the Bond movie video. His death was tragic. I don't "get" this song. It must have been the rock era it's from. The girl on the cross. Gosh. BAV
To think this was 1991 and they were likely editing actual film
Also in the vein of them acting high and might pointing fingers at others. People using celebrity for agenda or damning other people for differences is what i take from it as well. Those is glass houses sort of thing....
want your mind blown? primus - mr. krinkle
You should watch the video for Peace Sells... by Megadeth. The meaning of this song, to me, is an angry rant spewed at someone you love, but really don't like at that moment. It is SOOOO angry but the idea of Jesus added to the song gives a bit of an air of forgiveness. I'm not religious, btw, it just strikes me that way. Also, it is very probable that Maynard James Keenan took inspiration from this song. There was nothing like this album, BadMotorFinger, when it came out.
way before tool
Video is seizure inducing. I get its art, but the incessant quick cuts are tough
Gods only voice. And god died with Chris cornel.
Tool was heavily influenced by this album.
Can’t listen to these songs with all of the breaks…..Just the way it is..

Same - so many pauses and talking over the song, it just irritates me to no end. Great song choice though, this is one my favorite Soundgarden jams.
This is epic! Pink Floyd, to me, is so freaking overrated. Soundgarden and Audioslave are incredible. Tool took a lot of their inspiration from a band called Yes. One of the best prog bands ever.
you need to smoke more weed your not high enough Mr. McConaughey.....
