Please do more research. Joey Jordison did not play drums for Murder Dolls. He was one of the guitarists. That could possibly be 1 reason why the drumming is soo much different than him in slipknot

Stone Sour could technically count as Corey Taylor's side project from Slipknot, even though they originally formed before he joined Slipknot. He reformed them shortly after Slipknot blew up, and they did really well.

It's not Corey's side project, he was stone sours second vocalist, brought in by their guitarist Jim Root, (one of slipknot's guitarists) who asked him to be slipknot's second vocalist. Stone sour and Slipknot share 2 members.

Audioslave was amazing. It really seemed like it was impossible to pull it off but somehow they did it. Whoever hasn´t heard more than Like stone (thats a great track BTW) I would recommend you to give it a go to the complete first album. Production is top notch quality, and although Morello gets lots of time in the spotlight, Tim and Brad are one of the best ryhtm sections in rock history, period. Besides, they were really big back in the day. I was born in 1990, so I didn´t really catch RATM on their peak, but I think that maybe with Audioslave they got bigger?

Blur are actually one of the most successful and influential bands of the last 30 years here in the UK and are held in much higher regard than Gorillaz. The difference is Blur were pretty much exclusively marketed to British people and so they didn’t have much influence overseas. Gorillaz may have more album sales worldwide but Blur are considered icons of the 90s Britpop movement.

Funny that you mentioned Blur in relation to "Girls and Boys", I thought in the US Blur were only known for "Song 2". For the record, in Britain they were the second biggest guitar band of the 90s, and shaped the Britpop that dominated here in the mid 90s.

Absolute favorite supergroup of mine lately is Killer Be Killed that consists of Greg Puciato (Dillinger Escape Plan), Max Cavalera (Soulfly), Troy Sanders (Mastodon) and most recently Ben Koller (Converge). The two albums the band has released are just spot on amazing and having Sanders, Puciato and Cavalera trade off vocals even on one song still works great. Check out their song "Dream Gone Bad" to see what I mean.

Some Honorable mentions not listed here (IMO): The Almost: Aaron Gillespie's (underoath) side project. As a drummer I enjoyed warming up by playing along to Southern Weather. Silvertooth: Side Project? sort of? For folks that love Silberstein and Beartooth, you'll love this. Silverstein started a limited time only side project, featuring the entire band Beartooth. May their short run live on through youtube forever. A Perfect Circle: This is what you get when Tool's touring guitar tech has a "hold my beer" moment & catches the eyes of the front man himself, Maynard James Keenan. This band was arguably the most successful of any side project to date. The Damned Things: Ever wonder what happens if you cross Fall Out Boy, Anthrax, Every Time I Die, and Alkaline Trio? Well, now you have an answer. With two full studio albums already under its belt, it surprising that no one has heard of this group. I personally really like the sound they've produced. You could describe it as Rockabilly Metal. Not to dissimilar from the sound of He Is Legend. Their latest single "Cells" really drives home this sound.

Half of this list is Phil Anselmo, who also had some extreme metal side projects. I don't know if the whole white power thing was a joke or not but nowing his twisted sense of humor it probably was. I doubt he's actually racist though seeing how he sang about it in a negative perspective in 5 minutes alone "Your God's a racist tool" it kinda sounds like he's not for it. From what I gather he was being called out by skinheads in the audience and he was kinda mocking them because he has the look but isn't really one of them. It sounds probable at least, but who knows these days, people have gone down some very strange political roads for god only knows what reason.

hey man, love the video, but if i can offer a quick correction: you mentioned Joey's playing in murderdolls being more straightforward than his playing in slipknot. that would most likely be due to the style, sure, but also because Joey was playing guitar in murderdolls, not sitting behind the kit :) that honor would originally go to Ben Graves, and later, Racci Shay and Jason West for a short time towards the end of the reunion tour. sorry not sorry, massive Joey (RIP) and slipknot fan, so i couldn't help myself, haha. thanks again for the great vid!

DRUGS is supposed to be back in the studio right now I think with a whole new album coming out this year. I'm pumped for it. I would also like to hear your take on Isles and Glaciers which is probably the biggest super group in emo with Craig Owens, Johnny Craig and Vic Fuentes all on vocals.

If Velvet Revolver is your thing I'd like to recommend Army of Anyone. It was Richard Patrick from Filter and the DeLeo bros from STP. They only out out 1 album but it really is STP with Patrick on vocals. Kind of a nice mix if those 2 bands appeal to you. If 80s guitar virtuoso rock and 80s stadium stadium rock is your thing then check out Chickenfoot. That supergroup had Sammy Hagar (ex-Van Halen vocalist), Michael Anthony on bass (also ex-Van Halen), Joe Satriani on guitar, and Chad Smith on drums (Red Hot Chili Peppers). It's exactly what you'd expect :P Also Chad Smith had a wild side project called Chad Smith's Bombastic Meatbats. That album was a trip. I'd also like to give an honorable mention to Time Lapse Consortium, a side project of Incubus. Basically the whole band was involved, Boyd's vocals only appeared on 2 tracks that are covers of Incubus songs. TLC was widely considered Ben Kenney's audition for the band to replace Dirk Lance.
