ROCK BOTTOM | Can we Save this Season? - Madden 24 Saints Franchise (Year 4) - Ep.70

Ойындар

It's Year 4 of the Madden 24 Saints Franchise. After two tough seasons forcing us into a rebuild, we're hoping to emerge as a playoff contender once again. With a new Quarterback and exciting offensive additions, could the pieces be in place for the Saints to compete for the division title?
My Franchise on Madden 24 begins with the New Orleans Saints. The Saints offer a unique challenge compared to any other team looking at their future cap space problems and aging roster. The Saints are not a bad team in 2023 at all. But their future could not be anymore problematic as cap restraints will cause them to move on from players, including some of their aging veterans they still rely on.
I aim for a more sim feel to my Franchises. I play on All Madden sliders that promote a more realistic play style. I have developed my own XP sliders to create a more authentic feel to Franchise in terms of developing young players and replacing regressing veterans.
This will be my biggest Madden 24 series, and I'm excited to get the rebuild underway.

Love the idea of speeding up the pacing and doing more 2-3 game episodes. Totally down for that!! Even if it means 1 ep. a week or so. I’d love to be able to get through the seasons and see the story unfold and meet new players/teams

Thank you for the feedback. And I want to emphasize that there would still be 1 game episodes. And it wouldn't always be one episode per week. But it's nice to have options for different kinds of episodes depending on where we are in the real life calendar as well as where each series currently sits.

@@MrHurriicane I think another good idea is to go very fast through the first season of a new series. like (4) 4 game episodes. I think I can speak for most of us viewers that we watch these to watch you build the team. the first season for me at least, is always very slow. I think it could be a good way to jumpstart new series'

@@MrHurriicane can been watching for years. I’d love to see some 2 and 3 game episodes. I love your live game commentary although I’m sure it’s time consuming. I think maybe a game format more like what you do with the preseason is worth considering. For a faster pace. Less 1st and 2nd down runs we don’t need to see all of those haha, more just highlight big plays. I want to emphasize I love your current format but it can be slow. Lastly I know viewership probably drops with the release of a new game, however I’d love to see you not necessarily jump right to the next madden game if the series doesn’t feel as though it’s at a stopping point.

Instead of the obligatory Juan Beard hate, I’m going to just say this: Cane we appreciate the thoughtful approach you have to making content. I’ve been watching your channel for 11 years now, which doesn’t feel real. I trust you implicitly to make the right choice. If that’s two games a video done similarly to how it was done today I would love it!

In general, I like the idea of "speeding up" the more mundane parts of the season as long as the storytelling is still there. It is a little alarming that we're on Episode 70 already and it feels like it's been a winding and fun road, but we haven't really gotten anywhere yet. Today worked because the episode was about the Saints coming off of Tim Cannon's press conference fiasco, falling on their face again against the Panthers, but then Priestley and Barry Skelton stepping up to avenge the Falcons loss. The episode was way more focused on those storylines than simply highlighting a blowout loss to the Panthers and a surprising upset of the Falcons I agree that you need to keep playing the games to know and present the storylines and highlighting certain players/plays (like that Kyle PItts injury on the kickoff). Otherwise, it will feel too close to the Raiders slow-sim where there are storylines and there are big plays, but there isn't that level of familiarity cause you and we miss a lot of actual player performances (in exchange for the CPU v CPU experience and speed) I trust that you'll find something that works! I love the daily alternating MrHurricane and LP uploads, but if you'd like to take more time on each episode, I think we'd all be cool with that too. I know I'd be happy to trade off some upload frequency for more creative intros, focus on storytelling, and little bits like the Stockton Meter for example

I completely agree. My fear whenever a content creator starts to talk about getting more content in one video is always that we, the audience, are going to have to lose out on quality. No shade given but I’ve tried to watch other madden KZreadrs and the way they chop up games takes away from the storylines. Like sure they get to the off-season faster, but I never actually care about the team because I don’t get to spend any time with it. However I trust cane to make the right decision without sacrificing the storytelling element that he has, in my opinion, perfected for madden KZread franchises.

I think faster pacing is a great idea. I don't think this would take away from watching the construction of a great team, either. We'll still get to see the highs and lows along the way, and longer form content would be perfect to move quickly towards the end of a lost season or allow us more time with fun drafted players. Looking forward to see what's next!

The lack of success on 3rd and 4th down was really just because the plays took too long. Having to wait for the deep in from a TE isnt ideal against an elite pass rush. I think Westbrook got hit on evwry single 4th down play. I cant be mad at him for failing in that situation.

I love the idea of quicker pacing for the series. One thing that I tend to prefer in other Madden content creators is their pacing. Having a season take 5-7 episodes and then having the offseason be its' own episode would be optimal. Cutting down the videos gives better opportunities for highlights/lowlights to shine, which tends to be more engaging. Especially since we live in a world of bang-bang short form content

I think your pacing has been pretty good this Madden in terms of how often you've gotten videos out. You've really been grinding and plugging away on both this channel and the LP channel. I wonder if you could potentially do what you do with your Raiders series and put a couple of games in an episode and then save the single-game episodes for big matchups. I did like this video's pacing though and wouldn't mind that more in the future.

I think the faster pace is a really good idea. Over the years, I’ve loved the franchise series but it did always feel like I already knew going in, I’d get 5 seasons at most. Speeding it up is a nice evolution, especially if you keep important games in the old style.

With how good a story teller you are, it makes a ton of sense to speed things up *generally*. The hybrid style format works as sometimes that is a story in itself. This video seemed more about can the Saints pull out of the morale slump and what would happen in the games that was affected by the moral slump while we didn't have to wait three videos to see the outcome. Your storytelling also help with the one game videos. So next video a self-made part of your video is can someone step up like they did while Pearman was out and get more playing time. You have good skills so keep experimenting on what works for you and we will follow you through it.

Word of advice, for some reason the Madden lineups makes the number 2 corner guard the number 1 receiver. All you have to do is switch cb1 to cb2 and you'll have the matchup you want. And pay attention to who the slot wr is. If it's somebody like Tyreek then move your best cb to slot cb. It helps a lot.

As a Saints fan in real life, I know this episode/game is unrealistic. No shot the Falcons ever have that many fans at a game. Also, yes, super down for speeding up the pace of the series! Even if you jump around a bit more in each game than you already do. I'd love to get another 2-3 seasons out of the whole series than usual just to see more of the progression of the drafted players, see how the team construction changes after a Super Bowl win or once drafted players start to enter their second contracts. The deeper you're able to go while still showing some depth with the games and commentaries, the happier I think we all are.

I totally agree with everything said at the end! Ik it’s a bit time consuming to make a video in this format but I would like to a see a franchise series go out to 10 years of storytelling. Just like the broncos. This series and the raiders have been great cuz it’s been a true grind. Over the years in my opinion it’s gotten so repetitive winning super bowls after 3-5 years of the rebuild. Obviously that’s always the goal, but there’s always satisfaction winning the biggest game after all the struggle.

An idea is going game by game between week one and week 3, set up the scouting there. Then between weeks 3 and 8 multiple games per video there to speed that process up. Set your national scout up and then do 2, 2 game videos between week 8 and 11. After that you can go one by one depending on the season outlook, and see the scouting focus players revealed. This is just an idea based on what you are discussing at the end. I hope this gives you some inspiration, I love the videos.

I think speeding up is good too. Really could do mostly multi game episodes except in critical seasons, like year 1 to learn the team, once you have a legit playoff contender but seasons like this one the story line is really how are the young guys progressing and what are the missing pieces. Like a 17 game season is like 8-10 episodes, once its clear this is a legit team then slow down on some bigger games or ones that are entertaining

I'm super on board with a pacing change, particularly in the first season - I'm not terribly interested in what you can do with the real-life roster, I want to see it rebuilt. I tend to look forward to the sim franchises more, simply because we get to see drafted players develop quicker, etc. I think getting through the first regular season in 4 episodes (assuming it's not the type of team that could sneak into the playoffs in year one) with a hybrid pace in later years would be great.

Yeah I think changing the pacing could be great. This season is a tight race for a playoff spot. However in the case of a "lost" season. Then going 3-4 games with highlights make sense. We all know the off season is the best part anyway.

You can adjust depth of zones as you call plays. Just gotta be fast with the play clock runoff

I definitely think doing 2-4 game episodes to progess through the meat of a season is a great idea. When accounting for single or no game episodes (like the offseason and recaps), being able to average 2+ games an episode over the course of a series can get you beyond season 10 as opposed to struggling through season 5. Say you average 5 single game episodes and 2 non game episodes a season, you are then left with 12 games you can do in 3-6 episodes. If you can get every season done in those 10-13 episodes then it becomes like a tv or anime series in regards to 'seasons'. Even on the slower end of this suggestion, episode 70 would put you 5 episodes into season 6 of this series which would likely be approaching the trade deadline, or almost 2 entire years further along.

Man I talked crap about the end arounds not working and then of course it was a huge touchdown this week, smh. I do think the sliders for catching on defense needs to go up a bit, some of these passes just truly deserve to be picked off by the saint defense

Bro the Panthers snatched Westbrook’s passes, lunch, and maybe his soul. Tim Cannon might’ve been fired irl after this game.

I would love to get faster earlier years. The buildup is fun during the offseason, but some of the actual seasons feel long

Any ideas on how to properly develop late round and undrafted guys. Getting a james harrison Antonio gates or even just an austin ekeler has happened zero times in any of canes series unless hes was playing a 60 soemthing overall guy and essentially ignoring his lower ratings in favor of performance but even those guys always just kind of fade into insignificance. Wouldn't an occasional puka nacua in the 5th be cool? I don't see anyway to do it except mamually adjusting ratings but that comes with other problems. Amy idea on this?

And that's why you don't get cocky with those scenarios. Yes, if you do win in those scenarios, it will be big. But if you lose, your in a world of hurt .
