    I have to say this is a great video. Lots of great detail. Only complaint is would be extra great with like a split view of an over head close up shot when doing certain things to help see a bit better but still definitely a great video. I’m gonna call you out in the choke lever you forgot to install. Editing for the win lol.

    This video is amazing. Clear and concise instructions, educational explanations. To me, a dumb young 26 yr old engineer, carburetors were just magic before, and now I know some of all the engineering that goes into how they work. Also, you saved me 400 bucks on my project boat. Followed this video and that 1978 Chevy 305 is running like the day it was made. Thank you so much sir for your video and best wishes to you. Quick question I had that some others might - the needle seat in my carburetor had two cut outs on the side in addition to the hole in the top. The one in the kit didn’t have those cutouts. Are those for higher fuel flow or something? Thanks again!

    Isn't that crimp mounted diaphragm assembly for opening the secondary side ? I'm pretty sure the first item removed was the choke stove. That's what's used for operating the choke on a Rochester. Great visual how to video. I like how you're pointing out all the little things , like the secondary rod identification letters and all other explanations. Nice job man . 👍

    Thank you for doing such a detailed video on the marine quadrajet! I appreciate the little nuggets of info and rebuilt mine with confidence and your video. Could I use the pull off vacuum and a vacuum gauge to dial it in on the boat. As you know there are no other vacuum ports on the carb?

  • @franciscotrujillo4961
    @franciscotrujillo4961 Жыл бұрын

    As you say in the video, if I have not misunderstood, both the primary and secondary needles should cut off the flow of gasoline at idle, that is, if I mount the primary needles, I press them as if the engine were generating a vacuum, it should not if there is clearance between the needles and the nozzles, and also in the secondary needles, ????? And if the fuel level float is higher than it should be, would it also enrich the mixture more? greetings and thanks for your video

    Question: for some reason the vacuum does not release when full throttle and idles rough when vacuum is connected and bogs because it won't allow the big barrels flaps to open. Kinda weird and runs much better with the vacuum disconnected. Carb is rebuilt ,Would you know what could cause the vacuum to not release when opening up the throttle?

Should I use that gasket or the one that does not have the gap between the primary and secondary’s? Thank you so much!!

Carburetor Rochester four barrel on a boat just like what you’re demonstrating it was rebuilt by a guy and his company down in Florida that specializes in it the ability to test without putting it on the water I wish I knew his name it was set up by my marine mechanic. What is that white pad inside at the bottom of the secondary chamber.

    One more question friend, I'll tell you, I have a Rochester Quadrajet carburetor and I want to change the primary nozzles along with the primary needles, and since there are different numbers of nozzles and primary needles, I have to deduce that depending on the number of nozzles, I must set the needle number equal to the nozzle number? I mean, if I put number 0.72 primary nozzles, should I put number 0.72 primary needles? I understand that in this way, the idling engine has the primary nozzles blocked with the primary needles, since they are of the same diameter, and that when accelerating and losing vacuum, the primary needles begin to rise, allowing fuel to pass to the primary jets, is that correct? all the best

    Hi. Thank you so much for the video. I have a question. My numbers have been ground off on my quadrajet and I have an electric choke setup. Can I still get a service kit to do a strip down? I dont know which kit to order. Maybe I could send you some pics by email. I would really appreciate a little help as I am in UK and there are no specialists. The carb is from a GM 5.7 LG SGI motor 10263880. A kit would be fantastic, if only they were universal enough and I knew a part number. Thanks again. Nigel
