I really think the reboot would have been better with Craig Charles, his energy and excitement adds a lot to the show

Series 6 is my favorite series too. So many great battles throughout. But yeah to hell with the producers spoiling everything at the beginning.

Agreed. The reintroduction of melees, new house robots and there wasn't any massively overpowered flippers/spinners. Just had to remove the stupid intros cos of spoilers (they could have just used a "previously on Robot Wars" of what happened in last wars /episode if they wanted to fill time at the start)

I really like that the Tetanus team were genuinely disappointed to miss out on fighting Razer.

For those unfamiliar/forgetful - the first five minutes contain massive spoilers for the episode itself.

Great upload as per. Apart from the horrid spoilers littered throughout each episode, this may well be my favourite series of the show! Pity the ratings were slipping badly by this point.

Mr Phsyco and Growler are very impressive but for me nothing beats Matildas flywheel, it's brilliant

Dead Metal, Matilda, and Killalot will always be my favorites. I wish they would have given Killalot a hammer saw for an arm in the reboot. You know, like a Sawblaze arm on Killalot instead of the drill, and made with the same amazing style that inspired all the housebots.

This series, despite the spoilers and the final, is definitely my favourite. Good balance of weapons on competitors, 4 way melee’s are the best format, and plenty of seeded machines get through so the semi finals aren’t boring (like series 7)

Right, you don't know me, I dont know you but I feel in the mood to write up a somewhat live review of Series 6 as I watch it. More for my own pleasure than anyone elses but feel free to comment and tear me to pieces, I'd expect nothing less from the comments section of youtube. Christ I wish they wouldn't spoil the entire episode in the very first highlight reel. Why did they even need to show that? So stupid! Round 1 Melee 1: Wow, someone couldn't be bothered with the Robot stats. Razers weapon... a spike? What kind of description is that. At least write 'Crusher' or 'Hydraulic Claw'. Also I feel like three robots with very thin armour facing Razer in the first round was...well... intentional. Pretty sure Wasp was made of tin foil. Brutus Maximus... well no comment required. Raging Reality was a good step up from the Knightmare machines but was still a somewhat primitive flipper. Still an OOtA, not bad. Round 1 Melee 2: Cyrax's crew are adorable! So dosile and nervous. 'Very Strong Weaponary' though... who wrote that? Come on now guys. Oh look Ruf Ruf has the same weapon as Razer apparently . No idea why the Tetanus guys gave this design up, never going to be a world beater but its very sturdy. Haha the Wel-Dor guys at this point literally give no fucks, good job really as their bot is pretty much trash. Dougal did very well to survive that pummelling. Easy decision though, regardless of Jonathans usual annoying 'will they, wont they' bullshit. Round 2 Semi 1: Psycho and Growler get their 2nd identical introduction... amazing. Ouch...Cyrax armour putting up not a great deal of resistance to Razers...err... spike... sigh. Ahh poor driving really to let Cyrax retaliate, still again an easy win. Round 2 Semi 2: Tetanus 2 vs Raging Reality... should have been a great fight, was still alright but damn they got stuck in that corner and it just sorta slowed down to nothing. There goes my 'its very sturdy' observation, just broke down. On a side note another OOtA for Raging Reality, good stuff. And Refbot.. give us back that whiskey mate. Obviously not his drink. Round 3 Heat FInal: Raging Reality vs Razer.... now, did we expect anything else? YES they could have thrown them out and YES anything can happen but Raging Realitys driving has been sluggish at best whilst Razer...well its main weapon is its control. Whilst it wasnt a great fight I do enjoy watching the inevitable puncture of the beak through weak armour. Its just satisfying. Still, kinda hoped Razer would let them go for a proper fight. That said they were under no obligation to do so, so you can't really bemoan them. Summary: Razer through in what was, lets be honest, a weak heat.

Good summary. Re the last fight, I'm not a fan of Razer, I think it's a hideous weapon, but their tactics in that fight were perfectly OK, as you say they were under no obligation to risk letting RR get a lucky flip on them. (Any more than Hypnodisc were obliged to risk getting hit by Dominator's axe after they damaged its wheels in Season 5, or Tornado was obliged to not mount their anti-Razer frame in the S6 final - you use your best tactics to win within the rules).

Well here we go, the start of Series 6 and the start of my reviews. Let’s be honest, as soon as we saw the lineup we knew that Razer had won the heat automatically. Razer vs Brutus Maximus vs WASP vs Raging Reality: I’m going to rant for this whole thing about Razer’s Weapon being a “spike.” Anyway, Brutus Maximus‘ tires being shredded make me happy. Raging Reality actually looks like quite a good machine, and it’s definitely an upgrade from Knightmare and Spirit of Knightmare. WASP’s armour was... erm. Do I need to explain? It was even worse than Brutus Maximus’s armour, and that was wood! I wood make a joke out of that, but I’d be barking mad. I’m sorry. Seeing Brutus Maximus’s wheel going into the pit makes me happy that it came so perfectly. Nice OOTA by Raging Reality also, the first of the series. Cyrax vs Weld-Dor 3 vs Ruf Ruf Dougal vs Tetanus 2: Ruf Ruf Dougal apparently now has the exact same weapon as Razer, a “spike.” I’d love to see an annihilator between Hippobotamus, Ruf Ruf Dougal, Diotoir, Granny’s Revenge, Sir Chromalot and Plunderbird. Could you imagine? Anyway. Back to the battle. Cyrax, PURPLE, are you blind Jonathan? Also, very powerful weaponry? Not so sure. Oh god, Ruf Ruf Dougal’s removable link. First impressions, what the hell is Tetanus 2? Reminds me a bit of Wowot from Series 5, anyone else? It has a lot of weaponry mind you. Weld-Dor 3. Still as bad as all the others, it basically tells you a lot about the robot when the team captain is just like, “we know nothing about it and we spent very little time on it.” Now the actual fight, Tetanus 2 actually looks quite good. Why is Jonathan saying that if it goes to a judges decision? We’re 30 seconds into the battle. Seeing Ruf Ruf Dougal catch fire was just brilliant, from Pink to Black in around 30 seconds. Yes! Oh yes, let’s focus on Dougal on fire for the whole fight and not see anything else, why not? Show us the fight man! Tetanus here does actually look really impressive. Oh look, Weld-Dor is out again, I’m starting to notice a theme here. Jonathan is acting like Dougal night have a chance of going through. Come on JP, it’s a bit obvious mate. Razer vs Cyrax: Reminds me a bit of Razer’s battle against Aggrobot in Series 3, similarly shaped design, a bit difficult for Razer to clamp on to and crush, but it’s Razer so of course he will. Mr Psycho and Growler’s entrance was actually quite cool in my opinion. Oh look, another Razer fight for 80% of this. Crush, Clamp, just normal Razer I guess. Growler opening his jaws is just about the most annoying sound that one can ever hear. There’s nothing really to comment on for the rest of this, until Razer gets flipped. Correct me if I’m wrong but that hasn’t happened since it faced Behemoth in Extreme. Cyrax did well to flip Razer and keep it down for a bit, but of course it’s Razer. Not the best fight overall, but not every fight is really. Raging Reality vs Tetanus 2: Both robots looked pretty impressive in their group battles so was hoping for a good battle here and we did. Tetanus immediately clamps Raging Reality and carries it to the pit release button. Raging Reality looks in major trouble for the fight. Hahahaha! Refbot in the bit, he’s clearly had too many drinks. Great comeback from Raging Reality and second OOTA in a row. That was a good OOTA too. Razer vs Raging Reality: I believe that in most other heats, Raging Reality would get through to the semi’s as it is by no means a bad bot, two OOTA’s. CCC, Crushability creates carnage. Anyone else notice a few holes in Shunt’s scoop there? And Razer has automatically won as soon as they got underneath Raging Reality. Razer is a very good bot and deserves all of its success, but some of its fights get boring after a while. Chaos 2 and Hypno-Disc has fun fights, especially Hypno-Disc vs Splinter and Robogeddon and just about any bot it faced except for 101. Back to the fight, I love that Razer just Parks Raging Reality on the pit. A heat win for the #1 seed, unsurprising result. Overall, 6/10. Some decent robots, with Raging Reality, Tetanus 2 and of course Razer but lacked any great battles. Not a bad way to start of this war. Let me know what you guys think about my review also. I know I’m late, but I liked your review, I’m a huge hypnodisc fan, but it had more stinker fights that 101, the Beserk fight and D2 fight come to mind, although that was due to the producers wanting more damage and not counting D2 out

Norman shouldn't have feared Razer in the heat final, he should have feared Matilda's Big Pink Flywheel Bottom wrecking Raging Reality.

Well top marks to Syrax for still having the capability and wit to flip Razer, after all the damage Syrax suffered. And Razer almost didn't right itself in time - that would have been the upset of the series. Well, well, well - Refbot in the pit, and Tetanus which was firmly in control, tossed out by Raging Reality. But Raging Reality wasn't so lucky against Razer, no surprise.

Man I'm so glad that they don't have these stupid spoiler previews now the show's back, my advice would be after you click on the vid pause it and skip to at least a minute or so, but still the producers back then when it was the BBC ruined it like Channel 5, which it then went too and they made it even worse as we all know.

Cyrax were lucky to filp Razer but was not enough.

I so monstrosity agreed with Philippa with The armory work on Brutus Maximus, but 33:35 that reminded me of When I got my first hearted comment from Momo Ronson that never ever in my entire life that there’s a a couple of Matt and Mimi fan art when they’re FRICKIN having sex I mean are they mad?, but it doesn’t matter they’re my second all-time favorite Digimon couple.
