I think i know a way to make kind of "remake" this trend, in the form of a gamejam. Basically you gather dev teams and set a certain theme, it can be a object, maybe a abstract concept or a phrase. Make it up to interpretation. Set a deadline and then wait. Once the deadline hits, all the games made in that time would be assembled in some sort of Hub World, where players could choose which game to play. They wouldn't be anything crazy complex, more heavy on the story if anything. You could call it "Scary Stories, Rewritten"

You just unlocked my inner childhood memory. When I was a kid, I usually spend my friday night playing horror stories with my friends back in the day. Honestly the horror story is about those creepy pasta lore and it was cringy but nevertheless it scared me when I was a kid. Those kind of games were the peek other than scary horror elevator games, I miss those era but at the same time I'm glad that era ended.

During the days of 2019. Joke stories like su Tart had more production quality than any other roblox horror story game ever. Edit: After "Actually" watching this video (aka skiping to the conclusion cuz im bored). I remember I was EXTREMELY lore invested into piggy. I remember one time I won a infection game on piggy on chapter 12 on a public server (aka hell) and WINNING. I also remember when this guy was trying to figure out the true ending of chapter 12 (nobody knew about the PNG of Mrs. P under a car in chapter 9) by using the TNT and clicking on anything that he could. The only reason I stopped was because the game wasn't fun anymore and chapter 2's chapter 1 was kinda more difficult than most. I kinda just calmed down after a while from it and there's been no real updates anymore. Piggy intercity is "fully releasing soon" but I highly doubt now.

There is a series of Roblox horror story games created by a user called deadblood5, nearly every single model is made by the dev, there are only a few stories but they're all long and the dev modelled their own speech bubbles so you can actually read it from any angle. In my opinion they deserve a lot more attention than they have and it would be pretty cool if you made a continuation to this video so more people are aware of it, just a suggestion though!

Seeing a video like this was very refreshing, I joined roblox in 2018 and I enjoyed discovering scary story games and games alike. And actually, the game you're playing at 32:00 is one of them I really enjoyed!! I used to get a little creeped out by them but nothing more. I find this video so nostalgic and takes me on a trip to memory lane. Thank you for this video!

Not gonna lie, I forgot about story games entirely. Think I only played one around 2016-2017, where the story was focused on a Roblox Guest / Noob / “Bacon Hair” and had a little chapter of war in it… I think. Had a conveyer belt to just automatically read it all, didn’t know there was a trend in horror story games though. Probably was far too busy playing Jailbreak, eugh.

i dont know how, but roblox in the year 2018 has very specific genre and timeline for me. you might possibly watched one of flamingo's videos before, being an unfunny roblox memer, get scammed on roblox, interested on roblox myth and horror, being cringey in roblox, watching sad movies, video, and some animation memes of roblox, and you did those things at the same time in the same year, which is the year 2018.

Ngl the horseman one is totally a bit better than you gave it credit for, that one was my fav. AND THE SCARY STORY GAME HOLY SHIT I loved those when I was younger. 3:48 I can explain this. Getting revenge on someone would create a cycle of karma, that won’t go away because each side keep getting revenge on each other. So if you don’t take revenge. The cycle ends. All the karma will stop if you don’t take revenge.

I remember my first time ever playing a story game. one story was about a group of girls at a sleepover. they force a girl to do bloody mary, and they come back without much hassle. the next day, the girl looks in the mirror again, sees blood every where and her mom bleeding (probably hallucinating), then she breaks the mirror and is sent to the hospital and is traumatized. now that I played it again, it wasn't nearly as scary as I remember. it was basically a joke. I can't believe was actually too scared to look at a mirror because of it. then, there was also a story about a murderer standing behind a couch (or whatever) and then from then on, whenever I sat on the sofa, in the middle of watching tv, I'd check behind me to make sure there was no one there ..just realized he showed the game in the video

There was a game of this genre I remember from around 2012-2014, but I remember it being far more interactive. It had a lot of SCP's and creepypastas, and one story in particular was the Slit Mouthed Woman. That one I remember specifically because if you finished the story by going through the right path (that's right, there were story paths baby) and you could have your own slit mouth face.

Im engaged with a lot of horror stories back then, until this today im still obsessed with the old one, Believe it or not? These old roblox games are the reason why the other subgenre horror roblox games exist, I'd rather play the original old abandoned game than new trendy looking colorful ahh horror games

It would be a crime if i didn't review the stories ya made, so here we go: Addiction: "this says a lot about society" jokes aside, you have to be very incompetent to genuinely believe someone would give you a pc like that for free, that shit's ABSOLUTELY a scam. As for the story itself, it was VERY close to being so bad it's good but missed the mark, but to give it credit, the "it has begun scene" was so unexpected and conceptually dumb it made me laugh my ass off. Also, i absolutely love the spooky scary cyber space boogeyman. He just shows up, kills the protagonist, and leaves with no explanation as to what he even is. A true gigachad. 3/10. The Pencil: the monsters aren't even accurate to the drawings they came from smh 😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑. Nothing remotely interesting happens aside from dad coming back from heaven to bring the milk and the completely pointless png from google jumpscare that sounds like a bass boosted fart (Gwen is an absolutely relatable mood though). Also public indecency. 5/10. He should have listened: W E H A V E T O P L A Y O U R M A N D O L I N S. My favorite part is when they said "he should have listened" during the situation in which he should have listened in the story "He should have listened". Nuff said. 1/10. The Jinni: the sprunkledorf ghost was the best part. It's trying to do that "OoOhHh Be CaReFuL wHaT yOu WiSh FoR!!!!!!!!!!" trope but barely tries anything interesting and really stretches it's definition. The Jinni barely felt like an antagonist, he was just bad at his job. 2/10. Sarah: girl turns into a ghost and invites her friends to spend all eternity doing fun ghost things and spooking people, how nice of her! The raging inferno was hilarious btw. I love that jumpscare image so fucking much, someone needs to print that and put it in an art gallery. The first victim's dumb expression combined with the gaping hole in their chest being called a scratch was also amazing. I love this story to death for all the wrong reasons. 10/10. The horseman: your prediction of what the plot was gonna be was honestly better than the actual story. Those kids probably took a wrong turn when going to the party and ended up in a furry convention. The protag's best friend is the best antagonist of all time, i have never seen a man as truly despicable as this monster. Oh yeah, the spooky demon was there too i guess. Definetly a story that exists. 4/10. Overall these stories are a 10/10, narrative masterpieces 👌.

I was so scared when watching duck season gameplays and stuff as a kid that I literally uninstalled and reinstalled youtube when ever I saw a video related to it. oh and cool video

i think its kinda wild to say these peaked in 2018, these things have been around since pretty much the start of the game lol, but i have to assume you maybe arent as old as i am/maybe havent been playing as long cause you didnt even recognize the og footstep sound (the mysterious 'ticking music' you called it) honestly none of the horror is really very scary in roblox but i do miss the old horror games, but not these ones. i loved the ones where you walked around and talked to npcs and the map would change around you and it was just fun! nowadays its just... thing chase you and you die if it catch you oh nooo. one good one i remember is one i cant even remember the name of (i could swear it was like, marvin or some other m name like that) where you just walked through an empty dark brick hallway and a fake player would join after a little bit (it was singleplayer servers) and i was so freaked out by just that alone that i closed the game... wish i could find it again, cause that was a fun concept!
