You got click-baited guys. For his first point, corner clips, of course they got patched. They were only useful to niche obby games that the majority of Roblox players had never even heard of. To other games that didn't use corner clips as a mechanic, they could ruin the game, especially if the developers weren't aware of the glitch. If one of the fundamental mechanics of your game is an unintentional glitch, don't expect it to stay forever. For the second one, the buggy physics were obviously just that, buggy. That was never what the physics update was supposed to do, and once Roblox realized this, they fixed it! Believe it or not they don't have a vendetta against obbyists and they aren't trying to kill the community. Also he says the obbying community is getting smaller with absolutely nothing to substantiate that claim. In the last few years communities like JToH have only increased. With the massive popularity of difficulty charts, tons of people are being introduced to advanced obbies and the community is more alive than ever before. This kind of "oh my god Roblox is gonna ruin everything were so screwed" fearmongering is really common to see on KZread but its never true. Theres been some scares for us in the past few years, but it usually just turns out to be a bug that Roblox later reverts, or something that you cant even be surprised about, like a huge glitch being patched. In the rare case that Roblox actually makes an obby ruining update, the community very quickly finds a solution. Don't let the scary title fool you.

So you’re just jumping straight to conclusions?? because you can just add rounded corners to your walls and the problem is instantly fixed because there’s no corners on a circle also because of bad trends like “skibidi toilet” obbies are slowly adding them to their builds which most people don’t like “skibidi toilet” and don’t want it to be in every single obby ever also *GAMES AT ONE POINT DIE* and no one really likes trying to do an insanely hard obby just to get some cool thing on a screen

@@reobrauer6445 Your comments wording is a little confusing so correct me if I'm misunderstanding something here. First, I'm not jumping to conclusions, I'm saying there's 0 evidence that Roblox wants to kill obbies and if anyone's jumping to conclusions, it's the people freaking out about how obbies are screwed. I'm just asking people to be rational and think it through for a second (the opposite of jumping to conclusions). Two, yes you can fix corner clips, but the vast majority of devs won't even know it's an issue, and tons of games have discontinued development and could be permanently ruined by a glitch that is Roblox's fault. Sure, it's possible to prevent but you have to be aware of it and go out of your way to fix it, and there's just no reason for Roblox to leave it in. Three, yes trends do tend to take over popular and profitable genres. This applies to nearly everything on the internet. Skibidi Toilet is not going to infect all future obbies and ruin them as a whole, plenty of obbies are made without memes like this. In fact, most games that bank on using trends are low quality, cash grab games anyways. Not the kind of game you want to play. If you think all obbies are Skibidi Toilet trash, you're looking in the wrong places. Four, yes games do eventually die. Nobody said they don't. This is completely irrelevant to the point. The point I was making is that Roblox themselves are not actively working to destroy obbies, if anything they want to ensure that obbies stick around because they make loads of money. And yes, TONS of people like to do really hard obbies just for the sake of doing them. There are thousands upon thousands of community members who love doing insanely hard obbies for no reward. It's a hobby, probably for tens of thousands of people. I'm sure at some point the obby community will die, but it's currently at it's highest point ever, with no end in sight.

I honestly agree with this, all of these physics changes making us get used to new physics again, sometimes making an obby impossible or just straight up making it free really ruined it for me. But about slad's comment, it's true. We're not letting all of this stop us. We're just gonna find new stuff that works for us.

@@someweirdstuff1256 Considering that those obby developers are the great minority, and that the glitches can't be patched for specific games only, then the right choice still was to patch those glitches.

roblox isnt the one killing obbies. its the obby games killing themselves by being either wildly too inaccessible to new players and actively trying to make them leave with the most infuriating gameplay in existence or just straight up being deathly boring to the point of making new players leave out of disinterest. jtoh, probably one of the most popular games in this small community is fatally flawed in multiple aspects including the ones i mentioned earlier, and until those flaws are fixed, a good chunk of the game is reworked, or we bother to point people to the actually welcoming sides of this community, obbies will stay as nothing more than a niche subgenre of roblox games.

I mean, it might be a bad thing and good thing at the same time. Creators will create more advanced and cool obby mechanics over the time, its really cool how we came from a simple obby to really good parkour games like parkour reborn

the second bug was never actually released though out all games you had to turn in on in studio. and just because roblox fixed a game breaking bug doesn't mean they're killing obbies. clud this is a whole bunch of yap

instead of focusing on physics updates, which they absolutely do NOT need to fix AT ALL (the physics are fine and everyone is used to them now), they should start working on getting in touch with the community more, instead of making every roblox update hated by the entire community because its usually terrible

The second one could be only experienced in roblox studio by turning the "New Character Controller" beta feature on, but it was never implemented into the game

I hate how 90% of people go to jtoh, try ToAST, ToA or ToM, say "bruh this game easy as hell", go to ToTS, say "this is impossible what" and quit. And these new FANUUM TAX SKIBIDI ESCAPE OHIO obbies aren't helping, they only exist to get money from premium payouts and the ONLY reason they have checkpoints and easiest gameplay ever is to prevent something similiar that happens with jtoh that i mentioned above, hard obbies and obbies that were made with the purpose of angering the player need to grow somehow.

I hate how people are way too "ishowspeed flamingo kreekcraft vitamin delicious" to play jtoh. They just join the game and immediately go to cols or tots and say that the game is impossible EVEN THOUGH there are easier towers to play. It's just because most people today are extremely reckless and careless to the point where their minds cannot physically think or their eyes cannot read. Even if there was a semi tutorial on how to ease you into the game, most people would skip it or ignore the instructions.
