SteamGames13 It doesn't matter that James won, his comment still stands and makes sense. We've seen a lot of volley goals. The goal RVP made is something you don't see often. Also, RVP is argueably one of the best finishers in these type of scenario's. It's often that he gets a ball out of the air, and shoots or heads it imediately and it goes in.

The pass from Blind was at least 50% of the goal. The whole combination: pass & header is like a perfect synchronization. Blind also could have just run down the line, but no, he saw the man, the space and the opportunity. The result is history.

We have seen many spectacular volleys but we will never see a header like RVP's again in our lifetime.

@@brrrrrtenjoyer I am Dutch we are used not winning WC`s. And i do think Spain deserved the win in 2010. Being very lucky of-course Robben was injured for months even in the first match or matches of the world cup. If Robben would have been fit he would have made the goal in the regular time. As happend 4 years later. Stil they gave a hard time to one of the best Spain national team we seen ever.

Years later and this is the only goal people remember. That should tell you which goal was the best goal of the tournament. LEGENDARY ⚽️

Every season there's a handful of great volleys, long distance shots and scissor kicks. But you don't see this kind of stuff often.

It may not win it but If there's one goal that really captured the magic of the world cup this year it has to be this one. an incredible game, unforgettable stuff.

I'm not much into football. But saw this goal live somehow. In 2020, I still remember this goal. I struggled a bit to find this video in KZread (I didn't remember the teams and the player involved. Dumb me). But finally able to watch now. It's awesome!!

The fact we are now 9 years further and no one has done this again after says enough about how hard and unique this is. I mean; most of the times such iconic things in football like this happen, people are going to try recreating it and practice lots of times and still no one ever managed to do something that is even close to what rvp did. True definition of a unique goal
