I started reading her memoirs about all of this and WOW! She had a rough go of it to put it mildly!! Loved reading about fan base sending in covers for her piic line.

During the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City I had the pleasure of shuttling her around for two straight weeks.. She was about the most professional down to earth kind women I have ever met. A really really neat lady.. God bless her

Thank you for sharing I watched your story when my son was diagnosed with mds and as you might no when you look it up there isn't a lot to go on and it needed and still needs more awareness a lot of people aren't even aware of what it is! My sons only option was a bone marrow transplant and he made it threw it and he's almost a year out from transplant now. Thank you so much for bringing some awareness to mds because people need to no! And what to look out for it's not only people who had other cancers who get mds it's also children and adults who other wise were completely healthy who randomly get it. So much to educate people on!

I don't watch Good Morning America much, but I recognized Robin Roberts in the newspaper, so I came on to watch this video. I really wish you well, even if I haven't followed the show over the years. You really are so blessed to have so many people that support you, and really fortunate that your sister is a match and willing to help. I hope everything goes smoothly! It's admirable how you're handling this, and you will get through this, what a fighter! (;

This story made my day. I will be a bone marrow donor for my sister at the end of this month and I've been looking for a story I can relate to, an example to hold on to. I don't watch GMA, but I'm so glad that I heard about Robin Roberts' story because it exemplifies what we'll be going through.

My niece Katie was diagnosed with lymphoma at the age of 25 , she had a bone marrow transplant. But as time went by she developed chronic GVHD Graft versus host disease. She fought a good fight but sadly died at the age of 30. She was a nurse. I hope Robin and so many more people make it through a bone marrow transplant.🙏🏼

It maybe true that ABC is capitalizing on Robin's Cancer BUT She really seems to be a genuine person. It's evident that her "team" at GMA are like her family. Not everyone has that kind of support from coworkers.

My father has MDS. He is 80 and not doing well but my prayers are with you. He is going to The Anderson Center in Houston, Texas for experimental treatment. It is suppose to be the best in the country.

You are a strong inspiration of strength. I fought and won a battle of stage III breast cancer. I would not have been able to do it without a closely knit group of family and friends behind me. I made a sticker with the pink ribbon and a phrase that said "we did it". I couldn't take credit for all of it. So many were involved in seeing me to the finish line. July 27, 2012 I will be a one year survivor. God gets most of the credit.
