Well said, I needed this series so much as a young boy, was amazed when I found out years later he was Boba Fett, Edward of Wickham surely not! Bit like when I saw Sir Guy playing Mordred in Excalibur. Or seeing King Arthur in a Doctor who episode a while back, didn’t recognise him at all, but it was the voice.....🙏🏻 so must it be 🌳🏹 🦌

I met Jeremy at GenCon 20 years ago. He was a lovely man, very down-to-earth, very happy to talk to a star-struck Star Wars fan. This weekend I was talking to a friend of mine who attended the same event, and he can remember Jeremy signing pictures of 'Edward of Wickham' as well as 'Boba Fett', and that he was more proud of his work on 'Robin' of Sherwood' than his most iconic part.

One of the earliest memories I have of a non-hero, non-villain character actually being someone who mattered in a story. Edward of Wickham might have been just a peasant NPC in the local village, but he had dignity and presence, and it felt very believable that Robin and the others would value his opinion and respect his wishes when it came to their actions concerning his home and his people. An honest, memorable character, in one of my favorite retellings of the old tales. I'm sorry you are gone now, Jeremy. We are diminished by your absence in more ways than we know.

I like to think of Edward as a kind of deposed Shire Reeve. No longer in power, but instead leading his village as best he can in the face of Norman occupation.

How cool would it have been if "Edward of Wickham" went into his house after been told by gysbourne to get food and instead of getting food he emerges in full mandolprian armour as "Boba Fett" and kicks ass.

I remember one episode in which Robert Addie turned his horse's head, and it struck Mr. Bulloch, knocking him to the ground. The shot was kept in, and a "WHACK!" sound effect added...You know, kind of like that Stormtrooper knocking into the bulkhead in "A New Hope."

Thank you for this. I loved this show when it was first aired, still do and have spent the last few weeks rewatching it here on KZread., despite owning the DVDs (it adds something, to read the comments). Edward of Wickham was an excellent character, one I hope becomes a permanent fixture of future retellings of this myth/legend. Jeremy Bulloch, the actor who played the part, deserves much praise.
