Soldado arrived in a great fanfare of publicity as a proven European successful striker, but his complete inability to score goals near or inside the penalty area was a hallmark of his tragic time at Spurs. Even the simplest of chances in front of goal, he muffed. The more he played, the worse it got. Soldado was an enigma. For a so called successful striker at Villarreal, he demonstrated a distinct lack of close ball control at Spurs nor did he exhibit any real pace or turn of speed to go past defenders. Furthermore, he was unable to strike up any understanding with his fellow team players going forward. By the end of his time at Spurs, it was no surprise his confidence was rock bottom.

you have to understand a player needs time to adapt to a complete different style of play...premier league style of play is all fast pace and Long passes...where la liga style is short precise one touch passing and play build up...if he's such a flop just watch him play now with Villarreal
