Amazing thing about this movie is how they get Absolutely Everything wrong. Ike apparently had a major fit over this film.

They shot this movie in Europe, somewhere, but the landscapes are so barren they might as well have filmed it in Wyoming.

Does anyone know who played the lead American tank commander in the final battle? I've been trying to figure out who that was for years.

Common folk in the 60s didn't know what we know today. Allies had total control over the skies and German tanks were too scared to move because of them, bad weather was the only reason the battle started. Beautiful clear skies with the occasional mention of how cold they were in a couple of places seems inaccurate enough to get Ike angry. It seems the constant American artillery bombardment and Paton had nothing to do with it, it was gas all along. In the past it was said "The victors write history" that adage today is "Hollywood writes history."

Miroslav Tordaji what about Market Garden? A bridge too far? That was Monty. He wasn't in Africa in the latter stages of the war.
