Robert Trujillo | Metallica - 72 Seasons Custom Warwick Signature Bass Reveal!

Музыка

We are proud to bring to you this amazing footage of Robert Trujillo unboxing his new custom Warwick bass, made specifically for Metallica's “72 Seasons” tour! This German-made custom bass is based on Robert's Warwick Trujillo Signature model. It features a custom yellow mirror finish (fitting with the 72 Seasons album and tour theme), a 5-string, 34" scale neck made of maple with black ekanga accent lines in a neck-through design, the patented adjustable Warwick Just-A-Nut III brass nut, custom GraphTech Ratio machine heads, a Schaller 3D bridge, active EMG J/J Trujillo Rip Tide pickups and an active Bartolini circuit with a single volume knob. It comes with the standard Robert Trujillo signature logo on the headstock and "RT" initials inlaid in the Metallica font at the 12th fret. The body is made of maple and the fingerboard is tigerstripe ebony with a 26" radius and 24 jumbo nickel silver frets. Other noteworthy features include a matching wood truss rod cover, an electronics compartment cover with a finish that matches the body and the Warwick security lock system. Thank you Robert for sharing this with us and special thanks to the Metallica crew for providing us with this amazing footage! Hi there! The Robert Trujillo signature model is available as a Warwick RockBass ArtistLine instrument, it will differ from this custom made bass from the video though. As a custom shop however you can get a replica with identical specs or what ever you wish for.

Yeah but Rob played and hung out with Cliff Burton cause that's when Bay Area Thrash started out. Bands like Exodus and Suicidal partied and stayed at Metallica's house when they were Touring for the first time. So it's all in the family. It's not that big of a deal. They basically grew up together.

He probably just likes them better, the Warwick bridge is a little weird to a non-lifelong Warwick player (which he isn't, he played Fernandes until the Metallica days and probably others even before that). I like the Warwick bridge okay, but I like Hipshots way better.

    1. It is what Warwick originally had in their basses along with Schaller tuners-there us a lot of history 2. The bridge being one piece is(IMO) more comfortable when resting the side of your hand 3. There is very little sustain loss with a one piece bridge, the mass allows for no transmission loss

@@mariobass3968 yeah, Schaller has a 14" radius base but warwick has 20" fretboard. Flat fretboard with round bridge, much more strange than the contrary.

Hi there! Trying to answer all responses to this comment so far. Robert's decision on the Schaller 3D-bridge on his custom shop instruments is personal preference. The Schaller 3d-bridge offers versatile modern setup possibilities while catering to a more "classic" look. The Warwick 3D-bridges are our standard, offering a wide range of adjustment possibilities - because it was asked in a previous response to the original comment, neither the Schaller 3D-bridge or Warwick 3D-bridge are bound to a fixed radius but because all saddles can be moved in three dimensions they can adapt to any desired radius. The Schaller bridge has a bed of a 7" radius and can be adjusted up to 20", whereas the Warwick bridge has a flat bed and can be adjusted to fit any desired radius as well. The Schaller bridge is placed on top of the body in contrast to the Warwick 3D-bridge, which is nested in a cavity which both provides a different resonance and vibration with the body and the main part of the bridge can be lowered and raised as a whole to grant more flexibility (super low or high action, in conjunction with our adjustable Just-A-Nut III brass nut at the end of the neck), so the string retainer section exists as a separate fixed part to make this possible. The Schaller bridge features "roller saddles" and the Warwick features notches. Both systems have their own benefits and cater to different types of players and preferences in feel, usability and look. Hope this was helpful!
