Yes but Chavez was too small, way past his prime and battling with drugs and alcohol at the time. Chavez would have annihilated Tzyu in his prime and weight class. Tzyu got beaten to a pulp by a C class, overhyped Brit, Ricky Hatton.

Tim Tszyu's management is gradually getting out-manouvered by the Americans. The Americans hid a number of their best fighters from Tszyu and then goaded him into a 12 day prep against a 6,6 opponent with an opposite-hand lead. Tim's management firstly; should never have accepted that fight on such short notice; secondly should have had the fight stopped straight away after the accidental gash on the scalp of Tszyu. Now Tim's team are walking him into a fight with an absolute wrecking ball in Ortiz Jnr. If Tim loses this, it's game over for his career. FFS, get some nous going. It's embarrassing. Tim would take on anybody because he's brave, but his management need to be smarter. Anyway, it should be a ripping fight. Tim better watch his liver...
