Micheal never belonged with Freddy or Jason. I always thought Micheal and Leatherface was more of realistic slashers and not near as powerful. Freddy and Jason was by far the 2 most powerful and 2 most POPULAR during the 80's which was the peak of the slasher genre. This was the school yard argument. I love all the slashers but Micheal was dormant for 7 years in the 80's and was seen as a weaker version of Jason. I remember someone dressed up as Micheal and was called Jason. Every year from 84 on I went to the theater to see these 2.
