The official KZread channel of Grammy Award-winning artist Rob Thomas.
Rob Thomas is one of modern music’s most compelling and commercially successful artists. For twenty years, he has been the frontman and primary composer for alternative rock band Matchbox Twenty, leading the quintet to multiplatinum success over the course of four albums and hits that include “Push,” “3AM,” “Bent,” “If You’re Gone,” and “Unwell.”
Thomas’ first solo albums, 2005’s platinum-certified #1 album ‘Something To Be’ and 2009’s ‘cradlesong’ generated the hit singles “Lonely No More,” “This is How A Heart Breaks,” “Her Diamonds” and “Someday. ’Something to Be’ became the first album by a male artist from a rock/pop group to debut at #1 on the Billboard 200 since the chart had debuted. With ‘cradlesong’, he made history once again as the only male artist with multiple #1 hits at Adult Top 40, with most #1s by a solo male artist in the chart’s history. Thomas released his 3rd solo album ‘The Great Unknown' in 2015.

Tonite I have to do it at a karoake jam on Valentine's weekend. I'm rocking it at home. This wave of a song is moving me to Tonite. My true heart'sove will be there. It's important to her I rock out. Unless we REPENT and born again and LIVE HOLY, GOD hears none of our prayers. Prayers have power, but these must come from Changed hearts. Proverbs 15:29 The LORD is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous. Psalms 119:155 “Salvation is far from the wicked: for they seek not thy statutes.” (Many souls(unsaved souls), believe falsely and pray in vain). Mankind is filled with UNSAVED SOULS (WICKED SINNERS). That`s why there`s a calling to REPENTANCE and to BORN AGAIN: Luke 5:32 I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. Lyrics Don't you want to go for a ride Just keep your hands inside And make the most out of life Now don't you take it for granted Life is like a mean machine It made a mess out of me And let me come between Like an anchor dream, I was stranded I was stranded, yeah yeah yeah And I'm steady though I'm starting to shake And I don't know how much more I can take Well this is it now Everybody get down This is all I can take This is how a heart breaks You take a hit now You feel it break down Make you stay while I wait This is how a heart breaks Don't you want to go for a ride Now to the other side Feels so good you could cry Now won't you do what I told you I remember when you used to be shy Once we were so fine, you and I And why you gotta make it so hard on me Yeah it's hard on me And I'm sorry but it's not a mistake And I'm running but you're getting away Well this is it now Everybody get down This is all I can take This is how a heart breaks You take a hit now You feel it break down Make you stay while I wait This is how a heart breaks This is how a heart breaks You're not the best thing that I knew Never was, never cared too much for all this hanging around It's just the same thing all the time Never get what I want, never get too close to the end of the line You're just the same thing that I knew Right before the time when I was running from you Well this is it now Everybody get down This is all I can take This is how a heart breaks You take a hit now You feel it break down Make you stay while I wait This is how a heart breaks Well this is it now Everybody get down This is all I can take This is how a heart breaks You take a hit now You feel it break down Make you stay while I wait This is how a heart breaks Oh yeah This is how a heart breaks Oh-oh-oh This is how a heart breaks I can't take it How a heart breaks Oh yeah oh yeah oh yeah This is how a heart breaks This is how a heart breaks Oh-oh This is how a heart breaks This is how a heart breaks

We had to drive all over Orlando to finally find a Tape cassette of his band and songs we heard the night he played! I think he was 17 years old then! About the same age as our daughter at the time! @Rob Kelly Thomas Saw MB20 about 20+ years ago at Temple University in Philly. Was kinda crazy cos it was GA. When they opened the doors a few hundred people all pushing through, trying to get close to the stage. Lost my friend for about 15 minutes but we made it in alive, about 2 feet back from the stage, "Yourself and Someone..." came out a few months before so they didn't have a real long set. They were a good live band. Sometimes you go see a band and they suck live, like when my sister dragged me to see Sugar Ray and Uncle Cracker, boy THAT was an experience, and NOT a good one. I saw MB20 again after the 2nd album too and once again, great live band. I can't remember if Tonic opened for MB20 or Goo Goo Dolls. Maybe someone can remember better than I and help me with this. ❤️

Seems like he is running from himself (his feelings) ,but you can't escape them. That's why the hooded guy was there no matter how fast or far he ran. He was there at every turn. I could be wrong but that's how I see it.

One of Rob's best songs & videos alike. The video invokes the nervous energy of the song by showing Rob running from someone who turns out to be himself. And this in turn suggests the song could be about the stresses of life. Relationships, work, friends, all that can make you feel like you're being hounded at every turn.
