Amit Naamani He has an amazing song writing ability. His use of pros and metaphor. To be perfectly clear and somewhat ambiguous at the same time while also alluding to, or blatantly using lines from different songs combining them into his lyrics giving a sense of how long he spent working on his craft is nothing short of inspiring.

Remarkable to see! Mr. Thomas is the king of depressing ballads! Giving credit to TGA is amazing! Nice to see a musician give credit to the greatest band ever!

every time i see one of these posted, i find myself a bit surprised that Rob Thomas actually "gets" it, bc even though i loved the first 2 matchbox 20 albums (they came out around when i was 13-16 and my music tastes at the time were unrefined and unashamed) i've never really felt that way listening to many of his songs since...but i just gotta assume i've been wrong for 20 years, and i always friggin love to see that he covered this again once in awhile

Damn you, I liked it and than you reminded me of my own misery with this song. Your right, high five. Glad I got past it 13 years ago. But I love how this song reminds me of wasted emotions.

There's a "Mr. Jones" aspect to this song I like and I think you hit upon it well. Brian Fallon can obviously write. Always write by the moon, as it travels from heart to limb to pen. I noticed you went back to Gail. For your story, for your ears, maybe? Good cover.

Not bad at all! But he's missed all the melanchonic and nostalgic feelings of the original...

Great rendition, but it made me want to cobra kai my 15 year old emotions of a past life, with a smile.

This guy has never had his heart broken like Brian has. That's not his fault cut him some slack lol

That’s not totally true. Listen to Rob’s Rest Stop, Hand Me Down, Back 2 Good, and You Won’t Be Mine.

I NEVER comment on videos. I totally appreciate the effort and the nod to Gaslight...but I don't think this did it justice. Such a beautiful song...and Rob has a pretty voice. He forgot a verse. My daughter's first show was the painkillers tour. When she met him at the venue and he asked who her favorite singer was she said, without missing a beat, "Frank Turner". He laughed his ass off. Such a gracious and good guy. If you are gonna cover a song (which is risky)...it better measure up. I'm sure that he and GA appreciate being honored in this way...and I like Rob Thomas...I just cant get behind this one. Everyone is a critic though, just my 2c. Can't wait til there are shows again and Brian is back in ATL.
