As you progress through the game, any time this pops up if you consider the lyrics in the context of where you are in the story you gain more meaning and context for the entire story. This is also a prayer, and response.

Rjmaxi: what FF14 songs I should cover? FF14 fans: yes I mean... Fiend? Equilibrium? Dragonsong? Escape? Beauty's Wicked Wiles? In the Balance? Hic Svnt Leones? Scream? or Close in the Distance, or maybe even non-vocal ones, like Carrots of Happiness? Like man, even naming these songs I'm like "Yes!" Way too many of them.

Isn't it amazing how they took this song from the very beginning of ARR and re-purposed and re-contextualized in Endwalker in THAT way? It's simply amazing what they did with this song.

hm, don't quote me completely on this but I think this video was made by HungryChad. His youtube was flagged because Answers (as well as Dragonsong and the main theme for Stormblood) was on the nono list of songs we the fans could use so he took these songs down but people took it and reposted his videos. edit: I forgot, he also reposted it on his channel because Square released a different edition that we can use now...is what I understand.

"Words Without sound, these lies betray our thoughts." I get the feeling Meteion was already thought of when that part of the song comes up. Cus she is able to speak with your WoL without opening her mouth (y'know no sound) through our WoL's mind.

Sadly this was not the case, as awesome as that would have been. They admitted that up until Shadowbringers, they were just "winging it".

I would argue that Answers evolves in meaning over the course of the game. It still has meaning at the start, but your understanding of those meanings will change

@@Verd254 It really is an insult considering I'd argue that both Shadowbringers and Endwalker were guided by this one song. Specifically the walking motif and the theme of meaningful suffering. Answers is the thematic core of Final Fantasy 14 and arguably it's best song (even though we meme on Civilizations (La-hee)).
